Cooking puff pastry ??

OK, as a followup to my question about using brie cheese, I'm going to
use some puff pastry shells. I have on hand some shells, but I'm not
exactly sure how to go about baking them.

Do I put the frozen 'shells' in the oven or do I wait for them to thaw?
The directions on the Pepperidge Farm box don't mention anything about
that! I assume they're to be put in the oven in the frozen state, but
I'm not sure ;/

Another mention on the box directions is "Do not bake in microwave or
toaster oven." Since I typically cook for "pour moi," I am not going to
turn on my range oven -- doesn't make sense for two wee, itty-itty puff
pastry shells, so I'll use my (largish) toaster oven anywhoo (nyeh!).

Sky, who's experimenting again

Let them thaw. When I've made them, I put a rack over the top so they
wouldn't get too tall and then fall over.

I cook mine in the toaster oven not thawed. Here's how mine turned out
baking them in the toaster oven.

Mmm brie cheese and puff pastry. A match made in heaven.

Thanks so much, Koko. As always, your photos are things of beauty and
your website is too! I ended up thawing the two puff pastry shells
before I baked them. Next time, I won't bother with the thaw ;) Like
you, I wondered why the heck the instructions on the box said not to use
a toaster oven - that just doesn't make sense. And, I'm certainly not
going to use my regular range oven for two little itty-bitty puff pastry
shells! That's just not practical ;>

Sky, who'll do more experimenting soon
