Last Saturday while grocery shopping at Wal-Mart, I saw a bin full of
nice big red round tomatoes. No sign specifying source, like locally
grown. And I saw people buying them. Makes one wonder, both about selling
and buying them.

It's a Bentonville plot to take over the world.

The supermarket had a sign assuring everyone that the tomatoes were
safe. Not appetizing, but safe.

I didn't see such a sign at my Wal-Mart but it may not have been posted
where I expected to see it, just above the tomato bin.

It's been all over the news that Wal-Mart programmed their cash register
computers to refuse a sale of tomatoes that were not considered safe. It
would have been nice however, if they had put a sign somewhere indicating
that the tomatoes were from such and so approved source.

Walmart has a hard enough time finding people with teeth. Both
employees and customers.

Some tainted tomatoes in the US are making people sick (salmonella), and
they still don't know the source:

hm.. some 2-300 peole got ill.. In a country of how many millions? I
do not see the problem with buying tomatoes if you do not know where
they are from.. How many people a year do you think get salmonella
from poor food at a bbq each year? That doesn't stop us from having
one again right?
