Default Olive oil with dried tomatoes

I bought a bottle in France. My best use for it has been to dip the
half loaf of this morning's baked bread into it before stuffing the
bread in my mouth.

Got any better ideas for the oil?
What do I do with the tomatoes when the bottle's empty? They don't come
out when I pour the oil. I suppose they would if the took the little
plastic cap gizmo off, though. Should I do that and hope some of the
tomatoes come out with the oil? And do what with that?

Toss with pasta.
Top a pizza or some foccacia.
Make a salad with mozzarella, dried tomatoes, and basil.

I am so sorry.

>>Got any better ideas for the oil?

Not really, perhaps you could drizzle some on your next pizza in the
same way as you would oil flavoured with peppers

>>What do I do with the tomatoes when the bottle's empty?

Refill with some good Olive Oil

>>> Should I do that and hope some of the tomatoes come out with the oil?

Yes

>> And do what with that?

Add to chili next time you make it (or bolognaise sauce)

Dried/Semi-dried tomatos always come with oil in the jar.

If they are in a jar they do, but many are sold not in jars and they have
nothing on them. Note that commercial ones are acidified before the oil so
as to make them safe from botulism. Tomatoes are no longer acid enough on
their own.

I bought olive oil with chopped dried tomatoes, not chopped dried
tomatoes packed in olive oil. I bought a bottle of oil, not a jar of
tomatoes.

Perhaps on your part of planet but here in France they are available in
oil or just on their own. Quite often they are available on markets
where they are sold loose by weight

Picture? Su Picture a 25 cl bottle of olive oil with chopped dried
tomatoes in it.

http://www.alolivier.com/index_a.php then look down to SUN-DRIED TOMATO
: Sun -dried tomato infused Olive Oil - 25 cl Red Tin (8.3 Fl.oz) and
click on More Info at the right for a description of what I bought in a
bottle. Apparently it is also available in a tin.

In the jar I have in my cupboard, there are just tomatoes but no oil.
Having checked, it looks like I got these ones in the UK, here is link
to supplier's website in case you don't faarking believe me
http://tinyurl.com/54dy6f. (Glad to say they were a lot cheaper in Tescos)

Have bought others here in France, sometimes in jars , sometimes in
plastic packs.

Sez you.
I frequently purchase them from a large jar, dried, no oil involved.
They are flexible and are often salted.

I still think (wink, wink...nudge, nudge) that you should take them back
to the FRENCH store where you bought them on your trip...While in France
you could probably think of a mess of reasons this is a valid idea.

Yep, found the red tin.
Initially, my take on what you got was a jar of sun dried tomatos, with
olive oil added. Like what is commonly available here.

That's the trouble with 'across the pond' gourmet shopping.

What's passe there is outlawed here.

Haven't (yet) seen sun dried tomatos being sold loose, without oil, over
here.

Next time read what I wrote, Dufus. I used the word 'bottle' twice. :-P
