Study them, please, and tell me what I should be doing (if anything) to trim them before I cook them. Do I remove the tendrils? The hollow stem appears to be young. Maybe. I await your counsel. -- -Barb, Mother Superior, HOSSSPoJ Huffy and Bubbles Do France: http://www.jamlady.eboard.com |

Like this. And I'm going to do it her way, I think. I've already plucked the leaves from the stems and they're in the fridge awaiting my pleasure. http://www.winterjade.com/delectatio...es/000048.html -- -Barb, Mother Superior, HOSSSPoJ Huffy and Bubbles Do France: http://www.jamlady.eboard.com |

I cooked a fat clove of chopped garlic in some oil, dumped the pea leaves in and watched while they cooked down FAST. My full pan was just enough for two. I dribbled a little oyster sauce over them in the pan and stirred it up. They were good. I still have some for another (small) serving. -- -Barb, Mother Superior, HOSSSPoJ Huffy and Bubbles Do France: http://www.jamlady.eboard.com |

We've blown through the first harvest of dwarf pak choi and planted some more (they get picked at 2" tall) and tonight we had some garlic scapes. I have a mess o' spinach about to be picked and some young broccoli leaves are looking good, so I just may stir fry those tomorrow. Boron |

Yours look especially young. > >Unfortunately, I have never even heard of "pea tips". I have no idea, but I >am curious. They are called pea "shoots" in this neck of the woods. http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/reci..._15007,00.html http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/fo...OT-SALAD-12059 http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/fo...EA-PUREE-14092 I'd go with the last one. I ordered a wonderful pasta dish tonight that had green peas, fava beans, roasted garlic and spinach mixed with parmesan and a very thin noodle that was not quite 1/2 inch wide. If they'd put pea shoots in there, I wouldn't have objected. -- I never worry about diets. The only carrots that interest me are the number of carats in a diamond. Mae West |
