I'll be 61 Wednesday.

I have a head shot a friend took for me, that was my "official" photo back
in the days of BBSing. I think it's from 1993. My hair's kind of the
same length now - just on my shoulders - and I have the same Levi jacket,
and I'm going to have him do another one that matches that one as much as
possible. Sort of a Before Usenet / After Usenet set.

Why give up? I'm planning to stay around into the 80's or more and I have
no plans to retire before 70. Two of my best employees are 71 and 72.

Sure, I'll post it at the site. I hope I can still keep the one that's
there now, though. They would kind of serve two different purposes.

That.

I didn't remember the specific timing, but that's what I read, with the
actual presentation not having taken place.

They didn't swear but who knows what Arnold the Pig was grunting about...

Lol...

PS: And yeah, _The Beverly Hillbillies_ is pretty funny in it's own way...I
mean casting Louis Nye as Sonny Drysdale was a stroke of genius.

Headliners played the "A" or "Main" room. Newcomers played the "B" and "C"
rooms.

Never knew how Andrew Dice Clay got to the "A" room. He was awful and
vulgar in the first minute and continued to be so for his entire bit.

George kept us in stitches, as did Rodney Dangerfield, Alan King, Bill
Cosby, Lilly Tomlin, Eddie Murphy and others.

Yeah. In context (Carlin's "jumbo shrimp" line), I thought your comment
had something to do with another Carlin routine.

According to the AP news item, he was being awarded the 11th annual
Mark Twain Prize for American Humor which will be presented Nov. 10 in
Washington and broadcast on PBS.

It will be presented at the Kennedy Center but I do not think it is
the same as the Kennedy Center Honors. I looked at some of the names
that won the Mark Twain award and they are not included in the list of
past honorees.

Wow. I think she has the longevity title for the recently departed
celebrities.

Well, Larry King's wife (48 years old) apparently just checked into rehab,
lol...

Dody Goodman pre - dates my earliest memories of teevee, I don't remember
_The Tonight Show_ pre - Johnny Carson. She's a dim memory from whatever
kinescopes exist from the Jack Paar years...

Fuzzy language and fuzzy thinking were always among Carlin's favorite
topics. He marveled at oxymorons like "jumbo shrimp" and "military
intelligence,"

i think at least until you're in your forties you're a pre-pre-geezer.
but it's true that some become little old ladies shortly after birth.

I'd guess that those are the two catchphrases that he will be most
remembered by.

Although for me, they're tied with "Mom Bomb", "Womb Broom", and "Baby
Maybe" -- his proposed names for birth control pills. The latter was to
be a variety that only worked part of the time.

specific roles myself.

Yup. 100 to the second power is 10,000, not 1,000.

And when discussing human lifespans, either figure is exponentially
ludicrous.
