Absolutely hilarious! And how quickly the habanero-eating contest turned
into a milk-drinking contest!

My money was on the blonde (right), the way she tore into the first
one. What was up with all that chewing? I didn't hear chew your food
32 times as part of the ground rules - I thought the trick with burn
outs is to chew as little as possible and to swallow as fast as
possible. In any case, a habanero burn out isn't a good idea. You
can hurt yourself! What were they thinking?

The transition from peppers to milk was funny but it didn't come as a
surprise, did it?

I dunno sf, other than they had to be high on extasy or something!?! They
had to know what they were in for.

I can't begin to imagine the pain and burning they must've felt.

I put a slice of one in a pot of mac & cheese and it about rendered the
whole pot inedible. First and last taste I ever had of habañeros.

I stop at seedless jalapeños but favor mild green chiles.

I certainly tip my hat to those three women!

Best,

Andy

Ah, but the one on the left also went for the bread, which I think is the
only substance that will absorb the whatevers in the peppers. Bread,
tortillas, beans, rice -- anything starchy.

Gargling milk then spitting it out, rather than just washing the heat down
the throat would've been the way to win, I saw that on Alton Brown's "Good
Eats."

But they had that ONE rule about using the basket. So it's not like you
could drink some milk... UNLESS... you could unknowingly spit the milk and
peppers back into the glass as all the women were just grabbing for glasses
of milk.

Not that I'm female or have a death wish if I was...
