It's their way of putting us on a diet.

Now that I am watching the labels closer, I have noticed that almost
everything lists a serving size that is much smaller portion than a
reasonable person would have.

If the FDA can mandate nutrition information, I am curious why they
don't require a reasonable serving size?

That most LIKELY is the serving size. We have just become accustomed
to seeing the single American portion large enough to feed a Birafian
family. ...for a week.

Billy's right . . . except for ice cream.
Ain't NO way half a cup is a serving.
Half a quart maybe.

Firgure one and a half of what is considered a 'serving size'. The actual
serving size will make you starve w/i a month.

I'm surprised the conspiracy wing-nuts haven't found a Dreaded Government
Clandestine Forced Diet Initiative in this.

So...a serving is 1 or 2 bites. What a farce.

It's supposed to be a condiment.

Tangentially, for those of us who like eating tons of jarred salsa,
the TJ's unsalted salsa is a great product.

Condiment or not, how many people do you know that eat a only 2 tablespoons
of salsa when eating salsa and chips?

Not many, although it might be about the amount you'd put
on one or two tacos, or arguably in a burrito.

Sometimes it depends on who's serving. :-)

I can almost always get four servings out of a pint of Haagen-Dazs.

Of course, I do that as much to prolong the pleasure on those rare
occasions when I buy it, as for any other reasons.
