It never really was gmail spam, it was Google Groups spam. GG took some
measures to slow it down. I've been using keyword filters, and pretty
much wiped it out, with minimal "collateral damage".

Wasn't Sheryl Ann Buffy's travel companion? I never paid too much attention

I am working at Cahokia Mounds, east of STL in Collinsville, I work on
Mound 34 where the excavating is going on. However , lately I have
been doing the lab work and paper work for the dig. There is about 9
hours of lab and paper work for each hour in the field.!!!!!

Thursday is my last day there, but I will be back next summer.

I think she would have been better served (and perhaps happier) if she'd
just ignore him rather than react and respond.

Well, there is a reason why the Chinese cheap knockoff spam was coming with
gmail accounts. Gmail is the only web-based mail service that includes
asian character-based languages. Gmail offers its services world-wide and
its interface is now available in many different language settings:
Arabic, Bengali, Bulgarian, Catalan, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch,
Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Gujarati, Hebrew, Hindi,
Hungarian, Icelandic, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Kannada, Korean,
Latvian, Lithuanian, Malay, Malayalam, Marathi, Norwegian, Oriya, Polish,
Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Simplified Chinese, Slovak,
Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Tagalog, Tamil, Telugu, Thai, Traditional
Chinese, Turkish, UK English, US English, Ukrainian, or Vietnamese. Now,
with the added development of e-mail and web addresses based on UNICODE
ISO-10646 standard (Universal Character Set), legitimate AND spam traffic
will just grow exponentially (unless it is stopped of course) as commerce-
oriented Asia and Southeast Asia are encouraged to join our elite band of
ne'er do wells.

http://www.worldnames.net/about/about.cfm

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Character_Set

All these developments should of course please free market supporters no
end as spam is the Internet's version of the telemarketing supper time
call, except that you don't have to answer it. I'm sure someone out there
somewhere is trying to find a way to force us to read spam all the way
through before deleting it ;-)

Things are great, I am not a guide but a worker bee, I am not digging
now but working in the lab, sorting , cataloging and taking care of
the finds, am pretty tired. It has been a good summer, we have made
some great finds, and the weather has cooperated- no flooding in our
area.

I have had a great summer!! Thanks for asking!
-----------------

GM:

Good to hear, Rosie, your work sounds interesting...

When I was a kid I went to Methodist church camp in the summer and one of
our trips was to those Indian burial mounds. I was freaked out by the sight
of skeletons so it was kinda nerve - wracking to see...

The most interesting thing was to visit an open - pit coal mine down around
there, seeing all the HUGE shovels and trucks 'n stuff...

Fun fact 'o the day: Illinois has huge coal reserves, exceeded only by
several western states...IIRC there is enough coal in Illinois alone to meet
*all* the projected energy needs of the whole US for the next 500 years.

Southern Illinois does have some cool stuff. I did my share of
partying in the parks in the 70's. I knew a group of guys that would
drop acid and go watch dragon fights. Acid and I didn't mix, but they
all had fun.

Exactly<g>. The reason she prefers dead bodies or cell samples is
that she wont have to worry about killing them....

With her test scores, she'd do better in an area that involves writing
and art, but this summer she's taking some college courses to try and
upgrade her science and math skills. The kid is good.

I used to work with a programmer whose family owned a funeral
parlor. Her brother died last year, and I just heard she's getting
her degree in mortuary science so she can go into or take over (not
sure which) the family business.

I mentioned this to the kid, who said that since the hospital is
wiling to hve her back next year, she won't need another internship
opportunity.

Was I supposed to reply to the blanket invitation? (I don't think
I received a personal one.) I think, given what I have written
before, you know I am not going to show up. For better or for
worse. I am really pretty reclusive....

That's very harsh! How do YOU know about her emails?

She reveled in misery and so enjoyed being a victim, there is no way to have
reasonable interactions with such a person. Actually, at one time we were
pals of a sort, but her own duplicitious actions torpedoed *that*, she's
gotta have the Drama Queen bit going on (and honey, I *know* drama queens,
lol...)...Mothra Hughes was the same way. The fact they are not here says
something about them, I think...

Anyways, this will by my last blast concerning Ms. Rosen and the
Mothravator. It's too pleasant of a holiday weekend to be thinking about
the likes of them...

Well, not just you, altho you're certainly welcome any time (we'll
be in Malden tomorrow for a party). I know of and have had
converse with at least 4 others who hang out here who are
even more local than you, and not a word from any of them!

Hmph! Typical Rogue Islanders. Don't rsvp. Don't show.
Don't exist methinks.

Sorry. I didn't realize a blanket invitation necessitated a
reply. Maybe the others will also read and respond....
