![]() Yay, Christina. The St. Louis (Maplewood) contestant won. I was pretty sure she was going to, after Ramsay picked her for the finals even with a weak performance in the "three chefs" competition. I really didn't think a middle-aged caterer was likely to win. This was probably the worst slate of contestants since the show started, especially on the men's side. How on earth do you run out of the ingredients for two of the appetizers on YOUR menu half way through dinner service? Simple - he didn't bother to check to make sure his team had done adequate prep. In Christina, I saw growth during the season and the potential for even more growth, despite her age and lack of experience. Most of the people who enter the competition already think they're all that, then wonder why they get shot down. I was happy she won ![]() Jill |

Yeah, in many ways Ramsay didn't seem to respect "P" very much. > In Christina, I saw growth during the season and the potential for > even more growth, despite her age and lack of experience. Pretty much Ramsay's final assessment (source Wikipedia): "Christina had the least amount of experience coming into Hell's Kitchen. But I saw something in her that was quite special. She had the best potential across any other chef in Hell's Kitchen, and in my business, I think long term. I definitely, definitely made the right choice." Some weeks before that, I though Bobby may have had a chance. Although she lacks experience, she seemed the most knowledgeable and if she can get respect of older help in the kitchen, can do well. About week three, I thought the entire crew should have been tossed and they all lose. |

I'm just glad that blonde witch who made it to the final three did not
get it. I cannot remember her name, but I could not stand her. I am glad the girl won as I thought she was most deserving. And what about Jen and Matty during the final show? Jen still thinks she is the best and should have won. Matty is still nuts, but he was a lot of fun on the show. I haven't had so much fun disliking someone since season one with the fat guy Gordon called Butterball. Now we can enjoy Ktichen Nightmares soon. Anthony |

That was one of the more interesting things. Corey and Christina didn't get along at all through much of the show, then sort of became buddies near the end. I guess being the in the last three girls with Jen will do that for you! I, personally, think the better "potential" chefs are on Top Chef, but Hell's Kitchen is so much fun to watch. I really like both shows. Anthony |

I think she is was so absorbed with stewing over the fact it wasn't her in the finals that she wasn't able to concentrate on the task at hand. Besides, teamwork was never her forte, so actually working together to help someone else win is not something that would come naturally to her. |

IMO, it is a big mistake to intentionally screw up as millions of people, including potential employers, are watching. I imagine even the losers get some publicity and possibly job offers if they are good. Showing you are a vengeful bitch is not good marketing. |

Showing you > are a vengeful bitch is not good marketing. ....and then she had the gall to ask Ramsay for a letter of recommendation! I wonder what she got. ObFood: Got this in my e-mail today; I'm on the Quady e-mail list: Tree Fruits and Sour Cream with Quady Essensia 2 lbs. mixed ripe local tree fruits, sliced into thick wedges (examples: nectarines, peaches, apricots, plums and cherries) 1/2 cup Essensia (Orange Muscat Dessert Wine) 1 cup sour cream 2 Tbs light brown sugar Mint leaves to garnish Place the sliced fruits in a mixing bowl and add the Essensia. Gently stir to coat. Let the fruit stand at room temperature for 30 minutes before serving. Meanwhile, combine the sour cream and brown sugar, set aside. Serve the fruit in small bowls or sorbet glasses, top off with a dollop of the sour cream mixture and a glass of Essensia. At room temperature the flavors of perfectly ripe fruits is something not to miss and this recipe couldn't be easier. BOB'S NOTE: I'm thinking this might be even better with strawberries, when their fall season hits. As a springtime dessert earlier this year I had strawberries with Moscato d'Asti, and it was very well-received. I'm not a fan of the summer strawberries around here, so I'll wait until the fall crop hits. Bob |
