Breakfast was... (drum roll please)

Four White Castle cheeseburgers with dijon mustard and a tall glass of fat-
free milk and a multivitamin.

White Castle Cheeseburgers with dijon mustard? Sacrilege!!!!!

You've apprently never eaten in a White Castle restaurant.

We have none of their restaurants in AZ, but I really miss those back in
Ohio. Yellow mustard, onion, and pickle please...hold the cheese.

Those burgers in the frozen food case don't hold a candle to one eaten
fresh from their stores.

Poor Andy!

Wayne,

Heh, heh, heh, heh, heh!

Nope. Never been to a real White Castle. And the frozen ones don't include
the pickle!

How sad... :-(

But... You could use yellow mustard and put a hamburger dill slice on it.
It would be much more authentic.

Orange juice at home. Pick up a Starbucks on the way to work. Two slices
of 12-grain bread, toasted, with whole cherry preserves at my desk.

I HAVE the French's yellow and vlassic dill pickle spears (a tad awkward),
dammit!

Not a single White Castle in all of Pennsylvania!?! I'd have to cross the
river into... New Jersey??

I have a friend at work who moved from Kansas to AZ, and has never eaten in
a White Castle Restaurant. She brings the frozen ones in for lunch several
times a month. I tried one once. It was passable. I told her about the
yellow mustard and the hamburger dill slices. Now she always adds those to
her burgers.

Coffee. A low-carb brownie experiment... (Don't ask.) A few
spiced cashews.

Actually the mustard White Castle hands out in packets is a good brown
style mustard labled as "Dusseldorf Mustard." I like it on mine.

While I put mustard on regular hamburgers, I don't on Whiteys. I either
eat those plain, or use one to wipe up remnant ketchup from the fries.

If you are going to New Jersey, I would go to Jersey Mike's Subs. I love
their sandwiches.

If you live in PA, you could have a cheesesteak instead. People can't
live on cheesesteaks, although I would love to try. ~ (now I am drooling)

One of my friends was getting his pilot's license, so he flew to St.
Louis and picked up some White Castle's. They were OK. I guess they
have to grow on you.

3 cups of coffee

A bowl of Fruity Pebbles with 1% - a piece of TJ'S multigrain toast with a
slice of cheddar cheese and my normal 15 pills.

Yeah, I would probably get tired of cheesesteaks, but I would love to
try.

We will are going back in Philadelphia in August so my husband can visit
family, and all he can talk about are the cheesesteaks. He lived there
for 25 years, so he misses the cheesesteaks and the Italian sandwiches.

We used to get subs from Jersey Mike's when we lived in Houston--subs just
like both DH and I grew up with (he's from NJ, and I'm from PA).

That's how you know they're no good.

I saw White Castle showcased on "Food Paradise" on the Travel Channel in a
"Burger Paradise" episode. I was surprised to learn that between the holes
in the meat and the thinness of it, they don't get flipped!

Also from that show, I would like to try Louie's in New Haven Connecticut.
The undisputed original hamburger. They don't have ketchup!

Probably try Pepe's and Sally's pizzerias and see what that's all about
while there, as seen on the "Pizza Paradise" episode. Very loyal customers
to one or the other, while it's the same recipe at both.

Someday,

Andy

Which also means those of us who grew up on McDonald's don't have to
hide the evidence when we indulge in a guilty pleasure.
