Sign, sign everywhere a sign
Blocking out the scenery, breaking my mind
Eat this, don't eat that; can't you read the sign?

BlinkyChallenge: Betcha that without a lookup, nobody that remembers the
song can come up with the name of the band that charted it in 1971.

Some of us weren't ever sober in 1971 Blinky.

Which strengthens the assumption of my challenge.

No lookup, I am pretty sure it was something like "the 5-man electric band."

At least I remember the song. Give me points for that.

I'm impressed. It was, indeed, The Five Man Electrical Band.

I called this question into the DH (who was playing on his computer
while I was playing on mine) and without missing a beat he said, "Five
Man Electric Band...I think they were a Canadian group."

You cannot stump the DH when it comes to rock music trivia ca. 1950 -
1985. One look at his vinyl collection should say it all.

Canuckistanian indeed, from Ottawa. They disbanded (heh!) way back when,
but according to wiki and their own web site, they still get together and
do shows.

No, not right now, but that song definitely came to mind when I read the
subject.
