Default Breakfast, non home-made

Breakfast, non home-made

WaWa (7/11) sausage/egg muffin (white peppered to death) and a 24 oz. cup of
coffee (2 creams).

What a way to start the week.

It IS trash day.

You?

Trash day here, too: a 10" x 7" piece of "gnocco al forno" (baked gnocco)
which is a local kind of focaccia with pork shortening instead of olive oil,
halved sandwich-wise and stuffed with a lot of fine-grain garlic flavored
salami, with a dash of maio. Maybe that was 3 or 4 dashes
Washed down with an HB beer.
Heaven.

Heh. It is trash day here too, but I didn't eat such....

Here brekky was saag (or palak, if you prefer) paneer--with the
addition of some multi-colored peppers (phytochemicals, you know).
Two dark magic coffees (the first one was soooo good...).

You have TWO trash days? Where ARE you? I don't recall if we
ever had two such days. (I do recall garbage pails though....)

Maybe it's a condo situation. I have two street cleaning days (one
per side of the street), but not two garbage days. My workplace has
three garbage pickup days though.

Heh. And did you like today's brekky? (You can see I don't
necessarily eat breakfast food in the morning. In fact, I never
ate cold cereal until I was in my early 20s or so and I wanted a
little something sweet at night....)

We've got two trash days here, as well. Monday and Thursday. It's so hot
here in Florida that flies lay eggs and maggots develop quickly. They
remove the trash twice a week to help cut down the fly population. It all
gets sprayed when it's taken away.

We have two as well. Tuesdays and Fridays.

Since our township went to single-stream recycling we could probably cut it
down to one a week with no problem. We probably recycle 75% more that we
used to, all of which would have been in the trash can.

Ours recently went to once a week and I like it a lot. Same day for
recycling, trash, and yard waste.

My trash is picked up twice a week, too. There usually isn't much
to toss on the second day.

Very nice ... we only have brush pickups twice a year. Other
times you have to haul it to the recycle center or think of
something else to do with it.

Recycling is once a month here. Hardly in the spirit of recycling
if everyone drives their SUV to the place to drop of cans and bottles.
And newspapers.

3 times a week, mon, wed, fri, here in the old folks mobile home park,
over 200 units, so lots of stuff to be picked up.

Trash pick up used to be twice a week here, too. But about 12-15
years ago they went to once a week. About 3 years ago they delivered
to everyone a 96 gallon trash receptacle and a 96 gallon recycling
bin. I called and requested a 48 gallon wheeled recycle bin.
Finally, this winter they delivered to me a 64 gallon wheeled trash
bin. Trash is picked up weekly and recycles are picked up monthly on
the same day as trash. For large families they will deliver an extra
96 gallon trash bin if requested.

Yard waste has been cut back from 5 times per year to 3.

Jean B,

I like the occasional cheerios and milk. Or a breakfast hot dog or buffalo
medallion or two.

I'm not a dinner person. Gives me heartburn, so I don't as sleep well.

kili,

Yep. And they're darned sloppy about my trash cans!!! Laying out on the
road. Same all over the neighborhood.

I thought Christmas tipping would help!

The recycling part has left a great bit of glass on the road. The BUMS!!!

I live in a large township. It's pretty far to drive just to drop off
recyclables. If it's going to be a long month, recycling wise, I will
combine a couple other chores so I'm not really going out of my
way to drop off bottles.

Those things are just ridiculous, and I think people who drive
them have no idea they don't look cool. What I have noticed with
the price of gas being so high is that people can barely bring themselves
to step on the gas pedal. Forget jackrabbit starts, people just ease
out when the light turns green.

Plenty of motorcycles on the roads now.

I take an 80mg diovan tablet for high BP, two horse-sized calcium+D

Ah. We pay through our taxes. They tried to sneak another scheme

it was done.

And here I am off to make dinner. I would also get heartburn and
worse--but I eat early, and I take Tums and a Prilosec.

There's only 8 more at bedtime, not counting any analgesics.

Dimitri,

I was referred by the supermarket pharmacist to a recent generic Zyrtec
sinus allergy pill. Took 'em for four days and I'm just about done with my
allergy! Miracle stuff!!!

Best,

Once a week where I live. This came as a surprise, I thought every city
picked up garbage at least twice a week.

A mobile recycling center comes to our church one Sunday a month, so we
haul our recyclables with us. Our city will begin recycling curbside in
October and they have delivered our blue recycling carts.

Here, at least, we can call the garbage company to complain if the
garbage cans aren't put back correctly or they'll send someone out to
pick up the trash the trash guy left on the sidewalk/street. No
reprisals either, because the company is a business and their
employees don't screw around with the customers.

Oh, is *that* what multi-day pickup is all about? I thought they
picked up *everything* on both days. It makes sense now.
