As if you haven't heard enough already! Seriously, thanks to everyone for
their well wishes. It cheered me greatly to know people care ![]() I'm not out of the woods yet. I'm still on heavy duty antibiotics several times a day and I have an appointment for more tests next week. They'll be doing surgery in a few weeks unless this comes back in the meatime, which, I was warned, may very well happen. Meanwhile, I'm to eat a soft, low residue diet, drink lots of water and get lots of rest. OB Food: The loose meat sandwich. When I was able to start eating solid food after a few days they brought me a menu. Oh boy does a hamburger sound good! Well, it was (you guessed it!) a loose meat sandwich. Very lean ground beef, chopped (broken?) into pieces and served on a bun. Gotta tell you, it tasted like heaven ![]() Jill |

Guess I have to buy white bread because my beloved whole grain wheat is out of the question at the moment; gotta stick with white flour items. Well-cooked vegetables and vegetables without seeds (no chunky tomato sauces for me!). Canned fruit and fruit juices. Meats must be low in fat and chopped into small pieces. Refined starches include (non whole wheat) pasta and white rice. Mashed potatoes are okay. No highly seasoned or spicy food!!! It's not so bad. I can gradually work back to higher fiber foods when all the symptoms are gone but I don't plan to push it. It can wait until I know more about what's going on and when my surgery will take place. I have a follow-up appointment on 1/31. Jill |

It's really that simple. The antibiotics can stop or kill the infection but they do nothing to heal other than prevent further damage. If you can tolerate or like it is yoghurt and it's on on the list. The good bacteria can help. :-( too bad we don't heal instantly. -- Old Scoundrel (AKA Dimitri) |

He had the problem in 2003 and it never came back. There is hope!!! Blessings for healing, Janet in Sante Fe |
