Gee, I am so used to the daily brekky thing. I am missing it. I
was gonna speak of my absolutely vile brekky.... The chipotle
cheddar sausage of the previous day was sooooo much better.

Andy probably won't do another daily cartoon type thing again (not
speaking for him, just my opinion).... but the masses can take up the
gauntlet and run with the daily breakfast, for FWIW. I'm pretty sure
he won't ask for royalties.

In rfc (or maybe all of usenet) for every person who has a good idea,
like Andy's daily comic and now daily breakfast, there are a vocal few
who denigrate the idea (but won't KF the subject - just because they
are assholes), which ruins it for the rest of us who like the concept.
AFAIC those who ridicule are just jealous because they didn't think of
it first.... why would they bother reading on a continual basis unless
they wished they were getting the credit?

Me? I'm not a breakfast... or lunch person. Maybe in the future.
I'll eat it if I'm served or I'm requested to make it, but I don't
initiate breakfast on my own.

I don't like having breakfast at home on workdays. I arrive at work early
and enjoy having something at my desk as I start the workday. It will
usually be a toasted bagel with cream cheese, or rye or multigrain toast
with jam. Along with that, a very tall iced decaf coffee with cream.

FWIW, I really enjoyed Andy's COTDs. The Brekky thing left me cold, as
most of what he wrote about was enough to gag me. Still, I didn't
criticize or comment on it.

Jean B,

The "Breakfast," "Lunch" and "Dinner" threads have probably been recurring
since before I began visiting r.f.c.

Feel free to start up one of them anytime. It's not "my baby," like another
morning endeavor from a while back.

Best,

Well, speaking of brekky, I'm at home today, so really did make something
for breakfast. Thick pinhead oatmeal topped off with unsalted butter, a
sprinkling of brown sugar, toasted walnuts, and sliced banana. No coffee.
I recently learned that even the minute amount of caffeine in decaf coffee
is affecting me.

Jean B,

I have no turf here on Usenet. I have a little website turf somewhere out
there.

I have given up on the large blueberries usually available in our local
supermarkets. They all seem watery and tasteless. For cooking/baking, I
buy the tiny frozen wild blueberries. They're loaded with flavor and make
a wonderful pie.

Yesterday I had yogurt with fresh blueberries and almonds.

Today, coffee and fudge. I try to eat a balanced diet. Good one
day, bad the next.

I made Eggbeater'd (no yolk eggs substitute) French toast then grilled
cheese'd it into a sandwich with a "sprinkle" of garlic powder, a pinch of
rosemary and white pepper, with a tall glass of ice water.

My breath should be offensive for the rest of the day. I just won't make
eye contact with anyone and BURN THEIR EYES OUT OF THEIR SOCKETS AND MELT

This morning I had cheese grits with an easy over egg on top and a side
of pork sausage. DW had french toast made with some whole wheat bread I
made earlier in the week.

For dinner tonight I've got a brisket tip smoking and will have some
broccoli and leftover kidney beans with that.

I agree re the wild blueberries--and sometimes I never do see them
in an unfrozen state. The ones in the market now are pretty big.
If it ever stops raining and is less humid, perhaps I can go
pick some myself.

THAT'S better. Now I'll speak of today's breakfast. (Since you
didn't ask yesterday, that vile breakfast may remain a secret.)

Today... two halves of LC pita bread (pried apart-type halves),
spread lightly with cream cheese and LC strawberry preserves, with
a row of blackberries in one and raspberries in the other.
Rolled up. Pretty darned good. (I developed this mess yesterday
as therapy.)

I don't like the huge ones--esp. for muffins. The alloted amount
of blueberries (or, more likely, the number one can fit into a
muffin recipe without having them TOTALLY falling apart) equals so
few of the huge ones....

Observant? Yeah. And pessimistic, like me. The dude is psychotic
and y'all can't see it. I hope he has local friends (without them
having to beg here for him to email them).

ObFood: Italian sausage, grilled red onions, red jalapenos, and

I am a curious mix of optimism and (moreso) pessimism (which we
pessimists think of as "being realistic").

Your dinner sounds vaguely akin to my breakfast....
