Default Today's yummy lunch

A loaf of five-minute-artisan-bread, some butter, and bowls of this soup
that I just made up:

Sautee a chopped onion in a couple tablespoons of bacon fat until
they're translucent. Add a cup of chana dal and a cup of lentils. Add
two quarts of water, bring to a boil, and simmer for about an hour,
until the beans are tender. Add six strips of bacon, cooked and chopped,
a teaspoon of Costco Organic No-Salt Seasoning (or any
poultry-seasoning-ish thing you have around), and seasoned salt to
taste. Simmer another 15-30 minutes and serve, adding water if it gets
too thick.

The teenager says this soup is better than her previous favorite, which
was canned Andersen's Split Pea with Bacon.

Your soup sounds pretty good to me. I may add a little garlic, just 'cause.

I forgot. About a teaspoon of granulated garlic. Thanks!
