Default Andy's Breakfast

Andy's post got me thinking about Breakfast as it usually does.

To me breakfast is a variable depending on the day the amount of time, any
company, what's in the fridge, ad infinitum ad nauseam!
When I was a kid (a very long time ago). Our favorite breakfast was scratch
pancakes made by Era our maid. ( She also made scratch biscuit hamburgers).

If I really had my druthers It would be:

Fresh Coffee
Some nice toast (crispy like cracked wheat or the Old Oroweat not the new
crap they're making)
Real Butter (sweet or salted)
A hunk of Cheese on a board & a cheese cutter.
Occasionally some cold cuts.

If you had your Druthers?

Old Scoundrel,

Can't ya leave me out of it?!? I AM being framed!!!

When I worked night shift and we got off work at 6:00 am, it was Miller
Time!

NOT that we drank that stuff! Several branches of the company would meet up
at the same bar and party and talk shop! Put off the breakfast crowd in the
restaurant section something terrible! but, TOUGH!!! You had YOUR happy
hour, we're having OURS!!!

Breakfast pizza of course. A couple slices of good pizza that were left
over from the night before, unheated with a mug of fresh Columbian coffee.

Grease, carefully wrapped around bacon, egs and cottage fries. Oh, and
cinnamon rolls, fresh fruit juice and coffee.

Our maid made tortillas (sort of like a frittata) with potatoes and
onions, cooked in olive oil. Yum. I still make them fairly frequently.

As long as I have a couple hours to develop hunger, I can handle
anything for breakfast, and don't really have a strong preference. I
also like "breakfast foods" for dinner.

It takes me a few hours to get hungry as well. I absolutely cannot
eat as soon as I awaken. I have zilch appetite then. But give me a
few hours, and I will eat almost anything.

Oh that's exactly how I feel on work days. I stumble out of bed about 4
PM, and can do some tea and nosh a little, but I surely can't think real
food until I punch that time clock about 6:45 PM. Come 7:30 PM we're all
scrambling to plan dinner if we need to order out. Most of us eat about
10 PM or so. We do tend to snack a lot throughout the night.

We like pancakes and eggs, or french toast, for dinner, too.

OK, correct me if I'm wrong, three sunny side up eggs with hash browned
potatoes with a pair o' split biscuits (that means 4 face ups) drowned in
sausage gravy, a chicken fried steak drowned in more of the same, for
lunch?!!

I almost said fried bacon, fried eggs, and baked beans on toast, maybe some
sauteed mushrooms and onions too - and tea, but... if you mean every day,
then I think I'd get tired of having the same thing day after day rather
quickly... I like variety in my meals, no matter what time of day, but
that's just me.
