Breakfast...

A microwaved micro-carton of scrambled Eggbeaters, white peppered to death,
on wwwg toast with a slab o' Monterey Jack cheese and a "touch" of Cholula!
and about a dozen musgovian potato puffs & ketchup.

What did you have?

You?

Zucchini Haché. Very nice. Will hold me over for perhaps days.

If I can call "breakfast" what I eat during work break at noon, I had some
leftover from yesterday: a sausage who got cooked in white wine, from
covered in wine until the wine was a juicy sauce. The side was a potato
salad: boiled 'taters dressed with EVO oil, garlic and parsley, salt and few
white pepper. Drink: tap water.
And now, a juicy, fatty, wonderful... coffee and cigarette.

Be after 0830 CDST before I can have breakfast. Blood work this morning
for next weeks quarterly visit to the family physician. I'll probably
have whatever I can snatch and grab when I get home, probably a couple
of frozen pancakes we made last week, banana nut, with sugar free
so-called syrup. Then it's two shots of insulin, three blood pressure
pills, and a diuretic pill. Thus starts the day today. Bah! Humbug!

If it weren't for doctors and nurses I just wouldn't have anyone outside
the house to talk to.

Veggie Pizza Burger ... again.
I'm getting a little tired of them, I need to find a new stand by for next
week.
I have been eating healthy for the past 2 1/2 weeks, so far I have lost 9
lbs.
Breakfast has been an important part of my eating healthy.

Yes, but don't really need that much control. I keep my BG normally less
than 100 and rarely higher than 120. HbA1C is usually in the normal
range of 4 or less. I do eat some carbs but I used to be a sweet lover,
breakfast would be a large cinnamon roll, couple of cups of coffee,
lunch would be more sweets.

I can have sweets within reason, ie take them into my meal plan. I
really try to limit my carbs and when I eat bread it's whole wheat or
multi-grain, only one slice, sometimes a whole wheat tortilla wrap or a
pita whole wheat sandwich. Seems to work for me so I try to stay in the
zone.

lol That sounds awfully pitiful. C'mon over and we can chat. Then, I
am going to see a movie today, I am undecided between the X-Files and
Hellboy2. I may flip a coin to decide.

I haven't decided what I'm going to eat, yet. All I pretty much have is
pasta, canned soup and tortillas. Our fridge appears full, but it's full of
condiments - nothing edible. :-P

Woolstitcher,

That's a good thing!

I reduced 50 pounds for the third time recently.

An unbelievable amount of imitation crud I've been eating!

I'm a BIG fan of BIG breakfasts. Glad you are too!

Best,

Andy

kili,

If I were in Florida, I'd take you out for... uhm... lunch 'round about
now! We could STILL have eggs if you wanted.

Ah, I wish, but I'd prefer a salad. I can't eat eggs. :~)

I'm not a breakfast eater, however I have been eating breakfast for the past
2 1/2 wks, even if I'm not "hungry." I'm finding that my mood is better and

Ha! We haven't seen a movie in a theater since Raiders of the Lost Ark.
That must have been about 1981 as we were passing through San Fran on
our way to Bangkok.

We have a satellite dish here, DirecTV, and movies are cheaper than in
theaters, you just have to wait a while to see first run.

Let's see, leftover brisket, leftover beans and sausage, leftover ribs,
yeah, there's stuff in there for lunch. Plus I need to vacuum bag and

Movie theaters have fallen out of favor for me. I don't like audience
germs, noise, etc and you can't take your eyes off the screen to use the
restroom and miss a plotline, etc.

Ah, but Kili and I are speaking of condiments. I have lots of
ingredients for cooking esoteric stuff. Some of the things are
pretty old. I really should winnow.

I have resolved to winnow out at least one bag of stuff from my
"pantry" every week. Otherwise, when I move, I will have to do
all of this in a much shorter timeframe.

heh. I am now picturing showings with bathroom breaks.
Intermissions. They could be useful in movie theatres. But then
the bathrooms would be mobbed and then some.

I also have lots of condiments in the fridge. The oldest being either a
bottle of maple syrup or Hershey's chocolate syrup, both about 10 years old
and a bottle of Liquid Smoke from I don't remember when.

I didn't even list the condiments, there are about four door shelves and
the top shelf in the fridge full of those, and that's just the ones we
can't live without.

Why do you refrigerate Liquid Smoke? I just keep mine in the cupboard.
But then, none of my condiments last ten years either.

Probably because I use it so infrequently, it's out of the way on the
fridge door?

I need to winnow out some stuff, too. I don't even think my husband would
notice, to be honest. Some of the things in there have been there since I
moved in 4 years ago. One of these days I'll get a round to it.

Not for Zucchini Hache but one of my favourite ways to do zucchini is to
slice it into 1/4- 1/2 rounds, blanche it and then fry in a bit if olive
oil until golden on both sides and then sprinkle it with freshly grated
Parmesan cheese and let it melt on top. Delicious.

Why does it need to be blanched first? I have been cooking it that
way for years, and I am puzzled as to why it would need to be blanched
first.

Oh! I have a huge slab of Valhrona (sp?) chocolate from when it
first was available. And maple syrup. But it's the esoteric
stuff that takes up most of the room.

Good question. My wife introduced me to it years ago. That was my first
exposure to zucchini and she blanched it first.
