Default Pig's Blood Pie

Does anyone know or have the recipe? This is supposed to be a pie that
is made in the deep south region. A woman that I worked with years ago
told me about it. She said that it was delicious. (I'm not so sure) I
happen to tell someone about it today but he didn't believe me. I'll
have to find it!

You're really going for the Troll-O-Meter, eh?

Well, we may be stupid, but eventually we'll catch on to your
gimmicks. Given time.

So what will you morph into next?

I live in the south and I've never heard of it. But it doesn't
matter, I wouldn't eat it anyway.

I wonder how it tastes with Dr Pepper? Will you eat if that drink is
not available?

My paternal family is 'suhthun' too (far south alabama), and I've never
heard of 'blood pie' either! What part of the "deep south" was your
co-worker from? Another consideration might be the economical status
too, but I'd have no clue.

It's not limited to the South. Or to the planet.

Enjoy

BLOOD DRESSING

3 c. fresh pork blood
2 or 3 eggs, beated up first
Salt (to taste)
Pepper (to taste)
8 to 10 slices old bread, broken up
into pieces
1 lg. onion, chopped

Bake at 350 degrees until done, about 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

BOUDIN (BLOOD SAUSAGE)

1 gal. pork blood
1 gal. fresh milk
1 c. chopped onions (food chopper)
2 c. flour (mixed, diluted with milk)
1 1/2 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
3 tsp. nutmeg
1 1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. ginger
Salt to taste

Cook until well done:

BLUTWURST (BLOOD SAUSAGE)
1 gal. cooked meat (half fat and half
lean)
2 c. raisins (or more)
2 tbsp. cloves (scant)
2 tbsp. pepper (very full)
2 tbsp. allspice
Salt to taste
2 qts. blood

Taste before blood goes in. You can add some beef, but not too much. This
is all ground fine. Put in casings. Steam and smoke, heat in water, or eat
cold.

Now that would be a great menu item around Halloween for those daring
kind! (But I'm afraid I would pass) I did, however, enjoy my
Chocolate Coconut Cream Cheesecake today at CF for National Cheesecake
Day! Yummy!

Don't worry. They usually only pick on people they are considering possibly
liking. After all, who would want to eat the blood of total strangers?
