Default Semi-Homemade with Sandra Lee: SLop-py Cherry

It's a semi homemade brunch with cherries in every dish!
It all starts with a delightful Cherry Glazed Salmon with
DriedCherry Saffron Rice, then a light Cherry Tomato and
Olive Salad. Sandra's Very Cherry Almond Muffins will
impress, and for dessert super simple Brandied Cherry
Crepes. A refreshing Cherries Jubilee cocktail tops it
all off.

Once agaion, SLop takes a theme and bludgeons it death and beyond!

What the hell was SLop wearing this week and what happened to her hair?

SLop now claims she used to live across from a cherry orchid in
Washington, not a daffodil farm. Attention to details, Sandie!

I would have NEVER thought to put my dethawing carton of cran-cherry
cocktail into a bowl in case it leaked out of the bottom with Aunt
Sandie's help! Did she REALLY think she came up with that "tip" for the
first time?

Why did she put the empty cookie sheet into the oven?

SLop told us to be sparing with the saffron right before dumping a
generous pinch into her Minute Rice. Wouldn't it be easier (and cheaper)
to use a package of yellow rice? Didn't she do this with craisins
recently?

Apparently cherry tomatoes are a type of cherry.

SLop lectures on the importance of measuring the ingrediants for the
muffins exactly, then dumps stuff in.

I laughed when SLop tried to convince us those muffins were chock full
of cherries. Save for a couple lonely red specks, I didn't see anything.

This week's "cocktail time!" was a hoot. She was positively giddy when
she announced it this week and when she popped that champaign bottle, I
thought she was going to spontaniously orgasm. I swear I heard her sqeel
"Don't waste the champagne, Sandra Lee!" too.

What the hell is a "lemon baller"? Did SLop mean to say "mellon baller"?

I knew someone who made "crystal trees" like the one prominantly
featured on her tablerape and believe me, they are NOT "cheap! cheap!".

Cherry Glazed Salmon

Recipe courtesy Sandra Lee, 2008
See this recipe on air Monday Aug. 04 at 4:00 PM ET/PT.
Show: Semi-Homemade Cooking with Sandra Lee
Episode: Very Cherry

For Salmon:
1/4 cup cranberry juice concentrate
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoons cherry preserves
4 salmon fillets, approximately 6 ounces each
1 teaspoon salt-free citrus herb seasoning (recommended: Spice
Islands)
Orange slices
Toasted slivered almonds, for garnish

Preheat broiler. Line a baking sheet with foil and place in broiler.

In small saucepan, over medium-high heat, combine cranberry juice
concentrate, cherry preserves, and balsamic vinegar. Simmer until
preserves melt, about 2 to 3 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

Meanwhile, season each salmon fillet with 1 teaspoon citrus herb
seasoning. Remove the baking sheet from broiler and spray with
nonstick cooking spray. Place fillets skin side down on baking sheet.
Broil for 6 minutes. Spoon glaze over each fillet, top each with an
orange slice and broil for another 2 minutes.

Serve glazed salmon fillets hot, garnished with almonds.

Never mind that; did you look at the cabinets underneath the microwave?
Huge globs of paint missing! Clearly she spilled some of her vomitous
slop and it ATE THE PAINT RIGHT OFF THE FURNITURE!
