Earlier I asked about Claim Jumpers frozen lemon meringue pie. Ended
up buying one. Let it thaw overnight in the refrigerator as recommended on the package. We didn't particularly like it. The crust was mediocre, the filling lacked any tartness, the meringue was ... weirdly synthetic in some way I can't describe. It's okay enough for us to finish it eventually, but not good enough to buy another. Sometimes I think we should find a church just so we could go to bake sales..... -aem |

They were sold on either a weekly or monthly schedule, depending on the church. Everyone I knew, whether church memebers or not, bought these items because they were better than any local bakery could produce. They sold their goods to anyone who came in, and if you didn't get there early on a Saturday morning, there was very little left. -- Wayne Boatwright ------------------------------------------- Saturday, 08(VIII)/02(II)/08(MMVIII) ------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------- Don't start an argument with somebody who has a microphone when you don't; they'll make you look like chopped liver. --Harlan Ellison, on hecklers ------------------------------------------- |

Here, you don't have to belong to a church to go to sales. Also, sometimes library book sales are accompanied by bake sales. Of course, I am trying to ignore all such things. -- Jean B. |
