Default Hamburger steak breakfast

I had one burger left over from last night so I thought I'd make a
hamburger steak breakfast.

I heated up the burger and the leftover potato with a little water in
a skillet.
http://i33.tinypic.com/6yh5ll.jpg

Stan like his fried eggs cremated. No runny anything on his eggs. (one
of many reasons I don't cook for him but I had to this weekend. ;-)
I cracked two eggs in some butter in a non stick skillet. Then I used
the tines of a fork to break and swirl the yolk. Covered the pan and
left the eggs on very low until I saw the top of the eggs just
starting to set up.

Then I did the ol' shake the skillet and flip thing. Yippieee!!!
perfect.
http://i36.tinypic.com/8vvgn4.jpg

Topped it all off with some of the leftover gravy that's so good I
could roll around in it.

I hate to admit it cybercat, but I'm old enough to remember when the
good ol' greasy spoon diner type restaurants would offer hamburger
patties and eggs for breakfast.
This and pork chops, chicken fried steaks and eggs etc...
Good thing we don't eat like this all the time.

Hey, hey still do here in North Carolina! LOTS of people still eat steak and
eggs and pork chops of eggs, the great "greasy spoons" here still serve
them. I just was not raised eating these kinds of meat for breakfast.
Hamburger is not worse than ham or sausage, and in fact might be better due
to no nitrates. One thing I love that I just will not eat any more because
it is so fattening, is fried canned corned beef with eggs added toward the
end. Yum!

I normally like my eggs fried over easy or medium. However, I like the way
you fried these for a fried egg sandwich. Perfect!

Full of grease, adds cholesterol, thus heart attack.

If every meal you eat is like that, then yes. If it's an occasional
"treat" to have that sort of meal, it's not really a big deal.

I'd hate to think that my diet would be limited to only the "healthiest" of
foods. If I can't enjoy the occasional greasy meal, or a big wedge of
cheescake, there wouldn't be any indulgences to look foreward to.

For the most part we eat very healthy meals; lean meats, fresh vegetables,
few sauces or gravies, etc.

There's still plenty of places that serve chopped steak (or even sirloin),
pork chops or CFS for breakfast. Waffle House comes to mind

I try to adhere to the 75/25% rule: 75% healthy eating, 25% treat.
Butter/cheese/cream and excess sugar fall into the treat category. Even
with monounsaturated fats, I use moderation - they have the same calorie
content as buttuh, just not the sat fat. Combine the 75/25 rule with
regular exercise, and you're dialed.

I said "try to adhere", by the way :-)
