That is definitely South Side.

That's my recommendation.>>

is it still over by kelly high? it was pretty awful. you must not be
italian.brighton park is not a neiborhood known for pizza!

the best pizza on the south side has always been in bridgeport. try
connies or ricobene's. in the burbs, home run inn is the best.

whomever mentioned downers grove must be thinking or geno's. ack.

<<The only place on 63rd we ever used to get (and still get when we
visit mom) is Palermo's for their excellent sweet sauce. Just had some
last weekend. The one they opened in Oak Lawn doesn't quite nail it so
we stick with getting it from the original joint.>>

as i recall palermo's was on 44th and archer. i liked chesdan's a lot
better. better yet was the shrimp shack that used to be next to
chesdans!

Chicago Pizza.>>

i never saw a deep dish pizza in my life until my Italian father
"dicscovered these new pizza restaurants, uno & due". i was 19. it had
to be eaten with a knife & fork and it want good. i'm used to thin crust
pizza & grew up within walking distance of the original connie's on 26th
& wallace. thin crust pizza was the only pizza made on the south side.

i think deep dish stuffed was invented by someone polish or irish. LOL!

Can't speak for Brent, but as a 30+ years on the South Side guy, Geoff
is absolutely right. Most south side joints I grew up on thrived on
their thin crusts. I've never even had deep dish from Falco's,
Palermo's, Barraco's... and those are the staple pies for the SW side.

Deep dish is more of a downtown/tourist thing, if you ask me.

might be north side too. My wife grew up on Malnati's, often at the
original in Lincolnwood.

Lots of (or used to be lots of) places like Edwardos, Gino's East, and
Giordanos in the west and northwest burbs serving deep dish... just as
there are in the south burbs too... I was never too big on Edwardos sauce
but they did have something that appeared to look like deep dish...

http://www.giordanos.com/locations.php as an example...

Giordanos was always nice to order from because they'd include placesettings
when delivering to work...

as for southside deep dish, connie's started serving a pan pizza in
the 70s, as far as i can recall, and there weren't a whole lot of
tourists coming to the neighborhood back then.

pete: the only female I ever had a sexual encounter with was named

Seeing Connie's Pizza is not traumatising for me though...

When I tell this story to my lezboe friends they kid me and say, "Oh, was

There was a place out south in Worth in the 60's on Harlem south of
111th, Joe and Dick's Pizza Ranch which had the best, still haven't
found anything like it. Taste...oh the taste. There's another place at
the location, but it's not the same.
