Default BK Dark Whopper

I tried one yesterday and was quite surprised, they're quite nice. The
burger itself wasn't as juicy as a McDonalds burger, but that's always
the case with Burger King but the pepperjack cheese, Dark sauce and
pepper ketchup was quite nice.

I may try a double next time.

What was the dark sauce? Like a soy sauce? Teriyaki?

Not really. It's hard to explain. Sort of Peppery/BBQey I suppose.

Can you get Dark Whoppers in the US?

And why can't we get a Loaded Steakhouse Burger in the UK? They sound
good! Are they?

I'm getting confused.

You've not heard of which? The Dark Whopper or the Loaded Steakhouse
Burger?

I'm in the US and I've never heard of either one. But then, I don't pay
much attention to what's on Burger King's menu.

You can't get them there?.....sometimes blessings come in small
packages. The meat is so thin you can practically see through it.
They took a regular patty and just made it thinner to look bigger,
i.e. a steak. The sauce is way too vinegary. When I saw it
advertised on TV, I though now that sounds good. It wasn't.

Typical. They made the patty look huge on their website.

The PC Police would not let you sell a "Dark Whopper" in the
U.S. Just ain't gonna happen.

What is dark sauce? Did it have a lot of vinegar in it? which I don't
like.

Black pepper and vinegar. They call it the anti-Sauk sauce in most places.

Fortunately everyone didn't post that same response. Why you felt

Some people seem to have a problem with BK/McDonalds just because it's
popular to have a problem with them.

There's nothing wrong with a fast food burger now and again. In many
cases it's better for you than a ready made sandwich from (UK) Marks &
Spencer etc.

Makes sense.

I just wondered if they had Dark Whoppers and Loaded Steakhouse Burgers
on the menu in Florida.

Looking at our UK menu and the comments here it doesn't look like you
have the Dark Whopper (a promo for the Dark Knight Batman film it seems)
in the US.

They are "black projects" under Burger King's
"Stealth Whopper" program. If you read their
corporate annual report, there's a hole of about
USD$150 million committed to unspecified new
product development, which includes overseas
tests of new operational prototypes.

As has been said before here, you can't sell a burger with that title here..
It has racial overtones.
I ain't skeered. Seems the rest of America is though.

I thought the US was less politically correct than the UK? I'm sure some
UK do-gooder (probably a psychologist or social worker) will moan about
it very, very soon though.

Did you know that in the UK, some councils have banned the use of the
word "obese"? No? It's true, we must now call them "very overweight"!

Very soon you won't be able to take a **** in this country without
filling out a form, letting Big Brother watch you with his cameras and
letting the Government know first.

There's a lot more racism in America than anybody seems to think.

That's why McCain will win in a surprise upset victory,
despite Obama leading in the polls immediately prior to the
election. The (future) polls were wrong (in the future past)
because voters lied (will lie) to the pollsters because they
were at least a little ashamed of their racism against Obama.

I doubt they could market something called the "Dark Whopper" in the US.
Unless it was made of Batman or something.

Many years ago I worked with a guy that had a Dark Whopper. He won many bar
bets with it.

I felt compelled to type it because it's the truth. I don't pay attention
to what Burger King has on its menu. I don't watch the adverts on
television and I certainly don't feel compelled to inquire in cross postings
about it.

No. Some people simply don't buy into the hype. I'm not saying I've never
bought a BK hamburger. I think I had one in 2006. I don't like their fries
(chips). Face it, it's easier and cheaper to make a burger at home. Flame
broiled? I've got a broiler. Hell, I've got a grill.

"Now and again" being the operative phrase. You seem obsessed with BK and
their food. At least the Dr Pepper troll doesn't cross-post about it. I've
no clue about Marks & Spencer. Since you're writing about a US based fast
food chain I wouldn't imagine there would be much of a comparison between
the two.

You've obviously never been to the US. The Civil War is still being fought
here.

You are not required to respond to every post whether you know the

Yep. You've just achieved personal Sauk nirvana. Every other
