Default How bad is teflon coasted nonstick pan?

I have been using the 12" everyday pan for cooking eggs and recently
to heat wheat tortilla and cooking raw roti I buy. I prefer to heat
tortilla on the pan than microwave because using aper towel seems a
waste of paper towel but then, how much electricity am I using heating
on the pan?

Is it worth buying those tortilla warmer to save electricity (and
paper towel) in the long run? I 'll be eating tortilla frequently and
so may be it's worth it., right?

Heading to farmer's market...

By tortilla warmer, do you mean the styrofoam tortilla keepers?
They're great and keep your first tortilla warm while you're heating
the rest! If you're cooking with gas, warm your tortillas directly on
the burner - don't bother with a pan.

I think it's the area you're in. I hope when they start building
nukers again electricity gets a little more reasonable. Our city
place is heated by gas and the stove is gas. H2O is electric. It's a
small place (1000sq.ft) Our cottage is 1300+ with a full basement. I
heat/cool, light, cook and make hot water for that place for about
half of what the city place costs. We spend only 25-30% of our time
there but the difference is still drastic.

Good Gravy!! we are talking about wrapping a dozen or so tortillas
in foil and sticking them in an oven....toaster oven....lid of a
skillet to warm in five minutes. It ain't gonna cost more than a
nickle at best to complete this task. Talk about not being able to
see the forest for the trees.

The post I responded to was in reference to the difference in cost
between gas and electric.

And nickels are important. Ask someone who isn't able to save one.
