The only Smokey Joe's I acknowledge is on the Penn
campus in Philadelphia. I vaguely recall it being at
around 38th and Walnut in a walk-down, below grade
location (it has been more that 30 years since I was
last there). Now it seems that it has moved to a
S. 40th location.

This looks more like Sloppy Joe's.

That's a Smokey Joe's Cafe in North Berkeley. Oddly, I've
never eaten there although I've walked by it for decades.

Yes. I stand corrected. Oops!

Must've been thinking about some new form of smoked brisket sandwich!

Sorry!

I guess the storm has passed Key West. The sidewalks are starting to
populate.

I'll guesstimate that 2/3 of Key West Conches are foodies according to
those walking in and out of Sloppy Joe's. Now showing the sidewalk cam. The
1/3 slims are tourists???

LOLOL!!!

There is a Smokey Joe's here in Harlingen, TX that was named one of the
top BBQ joints in TX by Texas Monthly magazine. The reviewer musta
caught them on a good day.

There is another Smokey Joe's on US 281 a/k/a Military Highway near
Progreso, TX that is a shack with an outdoor smoker. That one is really
good. They have turkey legs, too.

Somehow I think Lieber & Stoller were the ones who made the name popular
