I confess to actually liking canned peas. IMO opinion they taste more
like fresh peas than the frozen kind do, but they don't have the
texture. I rarely buy fresh peas because they are so expensive. It
costs $2-3 for a quart basket of them and after 15 minutes of shelling
you have enough peas for two people to have or or two forkfuls of them.

There's probably no other vegetable so easy to grow as peas... and
that includes snow peas and sugar peas... and no other so good as
fresh picked.

I eat a LOT of tossed salads, and I like canned peas in tossed salads, makes
a nice difference in texture from the crispier ingredients, e.g. iceberg
lettuce and such. I also buy canned green beans and corn to put in my
tossed salads...

And I adore frozen peas and use them in a myriad of things. I make a lot of
stir - fry type stuff and I'll add a handful of frozen peas at the end of
cooking, nice color and texture. And frozen peas will work fine in a salad,
just throw on and wait a coupla minutes to thaw...

IMNSHO peas are a food group, I like them canned, frozen, fresh, in "pod"
form...pea shoots are a treat too if you can find them.

Cheap, easy, and tasty...almost as good as sex...

I like peas. My parents liked peas. My oldest brother likes them. My
other two brothers hate them. I can't figure that out. I don't know what
there is to hate about peas.
