Since you are suggesting that Barack Obama is not a good man, back it up.

I didn't say he is not "good" but there are better. My personal opinion is
that he is an empty suit just like most other politicians from both parties.
Rather than considering the good work a politician has done the media call
attention to things like a candidate had a zit when on the debate team.

Where are the Thomas Jeffersons of our country? How many of our great past
Presidents would have been elected in the People Magazine style of politics
today? Would they have even run for public office?

What you are doing is simply voicing a general disgust with politics. That's
fine, but as I said in my first response, you're not doing anyone any good
with this attitude. Not yourself, not the country, not anyone.

Tawkin suits, Barack dresses like Steve Urkel... the Obamas sure can
use a fashion adviser, and a tailor... their clothes don't fit...
looks like they both buy off the rack at Robert Hall. And if Michelle
ain't gonna wear a jacket she really needs to buy decent bras, if
yoose don't trust me on anything else trust me on this.

So what? There are many politicians putting in time as state legislators in
every one of our states. Some good, some bad. Being there does not mean
much unless he achieved something. Speeches don't impress me as much as
attitude and action. I do have more respect for the guy that is good at
fixing traffic tickets over the guy just lining his pockets.

That's why I don't care for Biden. He may CALL himself a Democrat, but his
record shows otherwise:

- Pushing the RAVE Act
- Pushing for creation of the office of Drug Czar
- Advocating for even *more* litigation from the RIAA
- Earmarking $67 million in pork for his constituents in 2007
- Training and arming Muslims in Bosnia

His personal integrity is also suspect; he's been caught plagiarizing more
than once, and he has been caught lying about his academic credentials. He
doesn't deserve the office he *has*, let alone the office of the
vice-presidency.

Obama is wealthy? He wrote a book that made him enough money to pay
off his student loans and buy a house that by the standards of where I
live is quite modest.

That wealth part was a really odd statement. I don't think his brain
was engaged.... or maybe he was just spouting Republican party line.

Those charges come from a man who is married to an heiress who is CEO
of the company she inherited AND they own multiple houses. One of
them, a million dollar plus model - which most likely one of their
less expensive homes, was featured in Architectural Digest a couple of
years ago (on the cover).

Republicans talk about hypocrisy, I think they should look in the
mirror to see what it *really* looks like.

BOTH candidates are extremely wealthy. It's ludicrous for one wealthy
candidate claim that he is more "in touch with the common man" by pointing
at the wealth of his opponent.

(I was going to say it's a case of the pot calling the kettle black, but...)

Good saying, might even be appropriate, but only one is extremely
wealthy. The other is living off royalties of a single book that *he*
wrote.

Barack Obama reported an income of $4.2 million for 2007. He reported an
income of $1 million in 2006. The combined salary-derived income of Barack
and Michelle Obama was $260,735. You call that AVERAGE?

Of course, the bulk of most peoples' income goes toward paying their housing
costs, and Obama's housing costs are a bit lower than most run-of-the-mill
voters: Most people don't have their houses paid for by Nadhmi Auchi, an
Iraqi billionaire whose billions came from corrupt business dealings.

I'm not saying that makes Obama *worse* than McCain, of course. He might
just have been oblivious to the fact that $3.5 million
suddenly-and-magically materialized, or maybe he was simply being
opportunistic.

obama has never employed the 'regular guy' shtick, as far as i know. what
people are complaining about is the fabulously wealthy mccain calling him
an 'elitist.'
