Baker's makes various types of packaged or canned coconut products, one of which used to be called "Angel Flake Coconut", and it was not shredded. Would that be similar? Howdy. Don't have a clue but it makes superb Pina Colodas & Chi Chis.
I have probably tried at least 20 different RETAIL brands of mixes, liquids but NOTHING even comes close. It is supposedly still available in shops in CA but I live in Vancouver BC Canada. I will look to see what shipping costs are to ship. I saw on the NET that "Liquorama" sells the product for $3.00 On Fri, 29 Aug 2008 23:38:48 GMT, Wayne Boatwright > wrote: >On Fri 29 Aug 2008 04:08:51p, MrMusic told us... > >> This productt used to be made in Hawaii but that mfg CLOSED up shop & >> moved to ? It is a liquid and used in mixed drinks like Pina Colada's or Chi Chi's.

As I recall, it's light and fluffy but tends not to stay light and fluffy for long after opening the can. It's a unique product and could be useful for flavoring cakes and baked goods without resorting to grated coconut flakes. You might be able to make a similar product by grinding coconut flakes. |
