On message boards it means "to the top." A post moves the thread to the top
of the list.

TTT = take to top. It's frequently used by WTVers in newsgroups with
an imagination for keeping a news post "at the top" rather than the
subject thread being pushed down and out of sight and ignored by lack
of interest....Picks

That's pathetic. Really. A post that says nothing just to move it
to the top of thread so people can read nothing.

Thanks for the explanation. Time to change my WebTV header to
something *really* crude. They need to stay in their own world and
leave usenet alone.

I read a quilting message board and they use it to keep info about swaps and
chairity works on the front page. The first post in the thread is usually
the only one with info.

Yet you'd have to read 45+ "TTT"s to find out if there was anything
else in the thread....

How archaic. Have you folks heard about the 'wheel' and 'fire' yet?

Not on message boards. On message boards new responses to the thread go to
the bottom.

Maybe you should get out more.

No, really?

Anyway - you're not posting from WebTV so I have no beef with you
:-) There's always room for redemption. Sorry to include you in
that group personally.

I read lots of stuff from a whole lot of different sources. Message boards
are different and work differently and not all message boards work the same
even. But even on WebTV usenet is usenet.
