Default Pot of Pink Beans

Habichuelas Rosadas. I couldn't find field peas for my vegetable beef soup,
so I picked up the beans that looked closest to them. However ... after
soaking them and checking on the web, I see that they are pretty much small
pale kidney beans.

What would you make with them, if anything?

Coupla sqwertz of yer breast milk should goose 'em up all nice like...they'd
be a "complete protein", too...

Anything you'd use pinto beans for. They don't taste like kidney beans.

Oh! Cool! I'll made refried. One of the web sites said they were comparable
to kidney beans.

I'd make a well-flavored puree, and use it like frijoles refritos, which I
personally prefer to make with black beans.

Or make the equivalent of red beans and rice.

Great idea, I have never seen this! It looks similar to Hoppin' John. I have
no bacon, and I am one of those people who cannot stand cilantro, though. I
think I will crisp up some thinly sliced ham and use that. Thanks, Janet!

You are welcome. Let me know how you like it. Use some extra onion in
place of the cilantro for added flavor.

Many of the local restaurants serve charro beans as a side dish. One
really good barbecue place near my house serves a cup of it to all
diners even before one orders. It's wonderful stuff.
