Default Tonight's dinner

....will be pumpkin soup and egg-salad sandwiches. (I wanted soup and
sandwiches, but we have no lunchmeat, and somehow, peanut butter
sandwiches sound weird with pumpkin soup.)

Oh, and here's the recipe for the soup I made:

Title: Pumpkin Soup
Servings: 4
Cooking Time: 2 hours
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Category: Soup
Source: Serene )

---
Ingredients
---
1 small pumpkin; peeled and cubed (about 3 cups cubes)
2 quarts shrimp stock
1 onion, chopped
2 ribs celery, chopped
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground coriander

---
Instructions
---

Make soup. :-)

(No, really, I make most soups the same way -- sautee the aromatics --
onions, celery, sometimes garlic -- in oil or butter or water, then
add stock and simmer until everything's soft. In this case, I also
blend the stuff before serving, but I guess that's not necessary,
though I'd dice the veggies smaller in that case.)

This pumpkin wasn't as flavorful as I've used in the past, so the soup
was a bit bland when I tasted it. I added a tablespoon each of fish
sauce and curry powder, and then about a teaspoon of freshly-grated
ginger, and I really liked it.

James and the teenager didn't. More for me.
