Default Adoption of Lardzilla X Tabletop

I want to thank everyone in the rfc group for their condolences on the
loss of Ms PK in August. The Pasadena, CA Humane Society has a program
called "Seniors adopting Seniors," which allows those of us over 60 to
adopt pets over 5 years of age, at no cost. The animals are either
spayed or neutered, are given shots and are microchipped at the time
of adoption.

I went to look around, in mid-September, and there she was!
Lardzilla! She was found at the beginning of August, wandering
around, filthy with fur so badly matted she had to be shaved. We
looked at each other and I knew we were a match, as we "chunky
monkeys" stick together. The staff called her Lardzilla because she
weighed in at 22 pounds, which is way, way to big!

She has been here in the mobile, for almost a month, and has settled
in quite nicely. She can't jump up on the bed, the way Ms PK used to
do, but she sure can climb up, and does so on a regular basis. Her
weight has dropped to 18.2 pounds (as of last week, when she went to
visit her new vet, Dr Deo). She is on a permanent diet and is fed Iams
low fat dry food, along with a tablespoon of canned cat food twice a
day.

Since J J, the world famous jack russell terrior, will be 14 years old
this month, and is a cranky old man, (as most old men are) they have
adpated nicely to each other.

Harriet & critters in hot, hot Azusa 100F plus. (with the a/c on, so
we can all be comfortable)
