Ping Barb, Bogus, and Bubba
From the food notes in my local paper, :
Spiga Trattoria, 162 Mayfield Ave, Cranston, RI, will hold it's first Sagra Dinner, The Beet goes on for Fall, Wednesday, 22 Oct at 6pm. Cost is $30. Dinner includes house-made agnolotti filled with beets and ricotta cheese, and chocolate beet cake. The owner of the Spiga and several other themed Italian restaurants in RI is Walter Potenza, a local celebrity chef. Worth the trip, kiddos! ;-) maxine in ri |

Is there really a beet festival that day in Cranston, RI - that'd be great! - or is it their own private little beet celebration, which they perhaps hope to expand? I'd guess it is the latter. I will have to check and see if they will have some poetry with their beets.... Best, maxine in ri |
