No, you dirty minded pervert. Lingering odor. Asparagus is notorious for
that. If you've never had asparagus pee you know it smells like skunk and
it has a long lasting smell even after flushing. It can hang in the air for
hours and on your skin as well.

Hot tub = bath. As in washing away the foul odor without having to excuse
yourself to shower.

Anything else I can explain about being considerate ona date and not eating
asparaguis if you think you'll get lucky? I mean I can paint a picture, use
colored crayons, perhaps even write a small thesis if it will help.

Quite quaint.
No, I was trying to imply that one should post UK format dates to a UK
group.

Anyone that does not bathe prior to oral sex is just gross. Showering
together is great foreplay imho. ;-)

Neither my wife nor I have very sensitive noses. It doesn't smell like
skunk at all to me. There is no lingering odor for me. Once I flush
and open the door, the smell is completely gone. I've never noticed any
odor on any kind of skin.

My wife and I have been married for 36 years. There's no concept of
dating.

We eat asparagus whenever we want to (and the it is in season, so the
price is reasonable). In fact much of the asparagus is grown within 100
miles of us, on the delta.

Rec.food. cooking is a European group? Since when?

So, what was the outcome of the poll?
As Dan pointed out, some people are very insensitive to the smell of
methyl mercaptan, and don't smell it in their or another's urine.
I also seem to recall that the mercaptan is a metabolic byproduct of
digestion, and that some people don't have the enzyme that creates it.
And further, that those same people don't smell it (much, if at all.)

And, oral sex is not a "get out of jail free" card, as far as STDs go.

I insisted that my daughter receive the HPV vaccine, Gardasil. It
entailed a three-shot series of IM injections that are obviously
painful, even in non-wimpy girls. In Missouri, the shots are available
at no cost from Planned Parenthood to girls whose health insurance does
not cover it. Outside this program you're looking at $175.00 per shot -
$525 for the series.

Currently, only female teenagers are eligible.

However, this morning I read that the HPV virus also predisposes both
males and females to tongue and throat cancers.
http://www.physorg.com/news143133664.html

My daughter was literally gleeful at the thought that her younger
brother might need to receive the same series of innoculations.

They are available here free and the inoculation program is carried out
through the school boards, except for the Catholic school boards who seem
to think that their little angels will remain virgins until they get
married!

Assuming that you are serious (a big assumption), somebody can make a
dive for a glass that got knocked off a table, in order to keep it from
shattering on the floor.

Of course, I'm not going to try to justify what the terrorists have done.

But let's go back a few hundred years, when what is now the US decided
that they no longer wanted to be a colony of England. England sent over
mercenaries, as they were busy fighting on other fronts. The
mercenaries wore bright red uniforms, an easy target. They stood in
neat rows and fired on command. It was pretty easy to hide behind a
tree when it was time to be fired upon. Then, while the mercenaries
reloaded, all at once, with no method of defense, it was easy to pick
them off at will. I'm sure the mercenaries considered the colonists to
be terrorists. They refused to fight according to the usual rules of
combat. They refused to wear uniforms. I'm sure there were lots of
young boys out hunting squirrels for dinner who were killed by the
mercenaries. That didn't create any good feelings towards England.

OK, now let's try Vietnam. Now *we* were the troops, in uniform,
fighting in another country against the inhabitants of that country. A
US soldier could buy some food from a villager, then turn his back only
to get a knife in the back. It was difficult to tell friend from foe.
We were supporting a corrupt dictator, so there was a good chance that
many of the people in South Vietnam weren't very supportive of our
attempt to "fight communism". In particular, there was the village of
My Lai. US troops entered the village, and lined all of the inhabitants
up. They were all unarmed. The US troops then shot all of them, men,
women and children. Every single one. Then they burned down the whole
village. When asked why they did that, the reply was that they had to
destroy it in order to save it. Is that terrorism or what? Perhaps the
inhabitants of My Lai were feeding the Viet Cong. I guess after that,
villages would be less willing (or more secretive) to feed or provide
supplies to the Viet Cong.

And they can do that in a dive (a "rustic" eatery), too.

I substitute teach in my kids' (public) school district. No info on the
Gardasil vaccine was provided and when I spoke to the school nurses at
my kids' schools they behaved as if I'd given them a link to a kiddie
porn web site.

OTOH, when my husband mentioned the free vaccine to a fellow tool and
tie maker at work (in the context of bad reaction to painful shots), she
nearly fainted because she'd paid full price to immunize her daughters.

Morals aside, I recommend universal vaccination of teen and pre-teen
females. No matter what your feelings on premarital sex might be, your
daughter may still be subjected to physical or mental coercement.

And if the vaccine were currently available to adolescent males, my son
would be in line and baring his shoulder for the shot to protect himself
against throat and mouth cancers, and to protect his partners against
the above, plus cervical cancers.

You'd make a good lawyer here in the U.S. You could make a fortune
suing retailers for selling fresh meat that lasts 8-11 months.

When you compare the readership of RFC to that of some podunk UK
group, then you might have a leg to stand on.

Have you read rec.food.recipes lately? That oughta REALLY **** you
off.

Agreed! I'm certain that my grand-daughter will get the jab when she's old
enough. It was the local papist bishop who stopped the catholic board from
administering it. That's the same lot who stop condoms being promoted in
Africa to help fight the spread of HIV.

Did Giusi tell you to post that?

You're cross-poting you know? Something you allegedly *hate* and *never*
do.

Or is it when it suits you?

Ah, the "my dad's bigger than your dad" line has come out. That didn't take
long did it? It's only a matter of time before Mrs Schicklgruber's
grandson's name is invoked.

Oh, I see - you're just a moron.

It's called appealing to your audience. You speak in the same language
the majority of your audience understands. This is why Bosnian movies
don't go over too well in theaters outside Bosnia.

Now does it make sense to you? Sheesh. You Brits really are petty
snobs. Is this your idea of drama?

Oh, but not in ufd. We speak in the same language as our uber group leader
Mike. A readers' digest summary of the thoughts of Chairman Mike (and co-chair
Guisi)

= All foreign food good, especially Latin type foreign food. (Polenta is
especially good.)
All Brit type food bad. (And that includes German/Anglo-Sax/US foods too! so
there!)

Figures.

Please! It would not be food if it were not dramatic.

<snipped>

Unfortunately, one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.

But what "modern terrorists" do nowadays is a bit over the top...

Don't you agree?
