Default Sugar prices

Someone (Hi, Barb!) recently mentioned she hadn't found 5 lb. bags of
sugar in a long time. I can't pass up a challenge like that!

I was in Costco today and noticed C&W sugar in 10, 25, and 50 lb. bags,
priced at $4.99, $14.89, and ~$28.79 IIRC.

My local Albertson's had the 10 lb. G&W for $6.99, IIRC, and 5 lb. for
$4.99.

I've seen 4 lb bags on sale in Chicawgo recently for as low as IIRC $1.99
(Walgreens) and 99 cents (Treasure Island Foods)...no five - pounders,
though :-(

Speaking of staples, picked up a coupla 5 lb. bags of Ceresota flour for
$2.49 each at Treasure Island...

Must be a regional thing. I've never seen the 4 pound bags here, only 5's.

Some stores around here introduced 4lb bags for same price as 5lb likely
as a test to see if no one would notice maybe a year ago. I haven't seen
4lb bags since then.

Typical price for 5lb is ~ $2.49

I checked, too. NO 5# bags, only 4# bags of C&H, Crystal, and house
brand. I wonder why it seems to be regional-like.

A 10lb bag for $5, or a 25lb bag for $15. Hmmm....

a couple weeks ago Shaw's (Albertson's) had 5 5 pound bags of
Domino sugar for $10. yes, they were 5 pound bags. the plastic
canisters are 4 pounds though (they were included in the sale,
but that's less sugar for the same price).
