By the time they were done, I was almost sold.
It DID look easy and convenient... ( for 1 or 2 people )

Has anyone seen the commercial ? bought the product ?

But did they make anything you couldn't make on the stove with a pan
and a lid? Some of those gadgets have a heating element in the top so
they cook "both sides at once," sort of. But I have after many years
of patient practice actually learned how to turn things over in a pan,
so that feature is unnecessary. -aem

I've bought a couple of things from TV in the past due to insomnia
too... but learned I'm never happy with what I buy. I also know
there's a store called "As Seen On TV", so I googled it and "Express".

I have not seen the "Express" but I do have the electric grill made by
Proctor Silex that is similar to the George Foreman Grill, but cheaper.
I use it a lot.

It's quick because it cooks the top and bottom of the food at the same
time...so, a salmon filet, for instance, takes about five minutes and
comes out with the nice grill marks on it. Great for burgers, chicken
tenders, pork chops...

Still, I cant say it really does any better than a good cast iron
skillet.

I LOVE kitchen gadgets. It's not safe for me to watch infomercials of
any kind. Especially at night when Ive had two or three glasses of
wine....

Sure, but it's all relative. I think they are less so than the shows
hawking those very same items. I don't like TV or Internet shopping
of unknown items. I'm not the mail order type either.

I had a similar gadget in college, nominally
a sandwich maker, but I also made omelets and
burritos in it. Sure, you can do a lot with it
if that's all you got, but anybody with a kitchen
has much better ways to accomplish the same thing.
It's like comparing a skateboard against a car.

The Nuwave oven is much more attractive to me,
but I remember the poor reputation of a very
similar oven, the Jet Stream oven from American
Harvest. You don't see ads for that product
anymore. If the ovens were any good, they'd still
be running the informercial.
