I've never tried to salt the tortilla chips, since they are already
salty enough for me and the salsa is usually salty. I use a *lot* of

I eat at cheap places, but only one doesn't make their own chips, and
it's mostly a takeout place (but they do have a nice salsa bar).

Restaurant-made chips are never salted because it's not practical
when they will be providing chips and/or queso with them (kinda like
using nacho-flavored Doritos for chile-cheese nachos - pointless).

Store bought chips are always salted except for maybe one or two
brands (5-10% of the market).

You must eat as some really shitty but classy Mexican restaurants.
The ships do not have oil on them, and they never have plates at the
tables until you get your food. It's just not done either of those
ways in Mexican restaurants.

Sweetie, I have no problem with somebody salting chips. What I have a
problem with is someone making that choice for the whole basket without
checking with others! I live a low sodium lifestyle and I respect
others tastes.

I didn't know that you knew all about oil tankers. If they don't have oil on

That explains a lot: The Ship Channel does *not* have the best of Mexican
restaurants in Houston.

Rest assured, I am right. If you can save up for some good meals away from
Clinton Drive, I would suggest places like Cyclone Anaaya's, Hugo's, El
Tiempo, Tony's Mexican, Café Adobe, Armondo's. Hell, even Chuy's - if you
can stand the noise.
