She's on her way home now. Her Brother flew down from Minnesota and he's
driving her home.

That's good to hear. Getting as far away from a hospital is a good thing
:-)

So what's the medical prognosis?

Don't pay any attention to Sheldon. TFM has something he wants and
Sheldon is just frustrated that he can't have it.

Indeed, but responding to Shel-dumb is like feeding trolls. They thrive
on the attention, even negative attention. Perhaps especially negative
attention.

I *did* go to a *** party one time. The SO's old boss was as camp as a row
of tents at a Boy Scouts picnic.

He invited us to his birthday party. I spent quite a deal of time with my
back against a wall!!

I'll leave that up to her to tell you. Honestly it goes into way too much
depth than I can get into here.

Once again, thanks to all you good people who've been so supportive through
all this.

Sorry mate, I've only had 2 good IPA's in the last few months. I've all but
quit drinking beer. At least that swill I used to call beer.

I think I could get up to Noo Yawk and back on a hogshead of either rum or
good Scotch. I could use some help with the ammo. There should be nothing
left but a red mist.

Aw c'mon. I sit with my back to the wall no matter where I go. Has
something to do with time spent in jail, having rednecks wanting to kill me
and stuff like that.
It ain't ever had anything to do with being raped. I'm not usually the
prettiest one in the joint.

But I'm being politically incorrect here.

Of all the good friends I've had / have, none of them, hetero or homosexual
are or were rapists.

The closest I've ever come to being raped was when my fist got overly
aggressive in the shower one morning.

It wasn't intended that way. I thought maybe the "<G>" at the end was a
clue.

I do suffer from arachnophobia and claustrophobia however. I'm scared a
spider will rape me in a UPS box.

It wasn't so much as to protect my pucker valve from getting reamed, as
to stop the more forward of the gays from feeling my ass!!

I don't mind girls doing it....... I draw the line at boys!!

I will, but you just did. Hopefully tomorrow she can sit at her computer
and start to detangle the threads.

Once again, thanks so very much to (almost) everyone for all the kind
responses.

There's no problem with her getting rest. They poked and prodded her all
hours of the night. When I called her this morning before I went to work
she said they'd been testing her since 4 in the morning.

<sarcasm>
The had to test if the insurance was still paying.
</sarcasm>

She's sleeping like a baby and I assume she will be for many hours. I'll
sleep on the couch because I snore and make other distasteful bodily noises
in my sleep.

Thank you Peter,

Yes Barb, I promise. I'm sorry I didn't do it, but it's been a bit (I wanna
say hectic, but schizophrenic is more like it) around here for a while.

Yes, I've heard that about Medical care in the US.

No sweat mate.

She's a lovely girl, and you're a great bloke for sticking by her.

One thinks one should be more worried about the females killing one after
intercourse. Of course that's always been a concern of mine anyway. <G>

I never change my identity, I just keep adding new ones.
I don't pay any attention to your stalker/detractors from that group.
You're alright in my book.

For the life of me I can't understand why people keep saying that.

I married her.

You know, "For better or worse, richer or poorer, in sickness and in health"

Oh, did I forget, "Until death do you part."?

I might not be the most religious man on the planet, but when I make a
promise like that to my partner in front of God and everybody, I intend to
keep it.

When she wakes up in the morning, I may then kiss the bride.
....and I don't have to drive to Tampa and kiss her in a ****ing hospital
room.

Christy's the only decent woman I've ever met. (as far as being a life
partner). I don't mean any offense to all you fine upstanding women on this
list. It's just that I've not met most of you nor was I romantically
involved.

I should shut up now because my back doesn't hurt anymore and that's an
indication of the pain killer kicking in.

I'm ecstatic that she's home. Of course she will have to see doctors again,
but hopefully there will be no more extended stays in the hospital.

Thank you Peter, and thank most of the rest of you.

That's because there's a lot of men (and the same goes for a lot of
women) out there that would head for the hills and never come back in a
situation like yours.
We hear about it all the time.

Then it can be said you are a man of honour, Grasshopper :-)

Coincidence??? On TV at the moment is a program........

Insight
The End of Marriage?

1.30pm – 2.30pm SBS
Friday 7 November 2008
Are we seeing the end of marriage? In the past 20 years the number of
people getting married in Australian has dropped by almost a quarter,
while de facto relationships have risen dramatically. Insight host Jenny
Brockie asks whether the institution of marriage is in slow, but
inevitable, decline. With a new bill being debated in Federal Parliament
that's designed to give de facto couples the same legal and economic
rights as married ones, will more Australians be entering a new form of
marriage without realising it? Or is living together still seen as an
important trial period before the big step? In this intriguing episode
of Insight, Jenny Brockie asks why are we no longer getting married? Is
it because we are scared of divorce or because marriage has become a
devalued or archaic institution?

:-)

The SO and I have been together now for 15 years. We got engaged about
18 months ago. We'll get married sometime :-)

She said "I want a church wedding."
I said "How about on a white sandy beach on some tropical Island in the
middle of the Pacific?"
She said "Screw the church wedding!!" :-)

God, no!! ;-P

I'm an equal opportunity bigot. I hate everyone, including 'God', the
same ;-)

I've been in plenty of hospital rooms, but never one of those. You guys
have all the fun!! ;-P

"One shot, one kill." Don't waste ammo, there will always be another
target.
