Less effective gun laws - people are too scared to be up front with
someone who has a gun in their pocket.

In Australia people tell it like it is because there's less danger of
being shot for having a different opinion.

You appear to have forgot the smiley face. Or else you are completely
ignorant. I've never seen a gun that was not:

1. In the hands of a law enforcement officer
2. At a target range, going to a target range, or coming from a
target range
3. Being used hunting, going to, coming from

Our gun laws are not actually that lax. However, criminals are noted
for
disobeying laws, including gun regulations.

Now, was that sufficiently up front, or would you like me to call you
a bad name?

And yet all over the USA people are being killed just for 'being
there'... like that 12 year old kid who got mown down because he was
trick or treating.

A couple of kids with an adult walking towards a front door... now
that was *obviously* a home invasion and warranted lethal force to
repel... not!

The US hasn't cornered the market on looney-toons, we just publicize
them better.

Guns and drugs (including alcohol) are a bad combination. I still
remember a local incident involving Ramon Salcido. I don't remember how
many people he killed, but it was a whole bunch, including his beautiful
little daughters.

Thanks, if only for the sake of rec.food.cooking. I didn't notice
that when I posted.
