What kind of bandwidth? I don't know what you were paying for basic land line phone service, but I've yet to find a single cellphone service that is cheaper for basic POTS service. I find it hard to believe internet access via cell service is cheaper by any metric you can think of. Feel free to change my mind. > internet. I'll not be going back to DSL any time soon if I can help it. I have POTS and DSL through Qwest and am quite happy with service. After having cable for 10 yrs, I'm not in the least bit disappointed. Yes, AT&T was upping dwnld to the unheard of >5Mb/s range, but I seldom accessed any servers that could match it. Granted, our bill is a bit high, but CO has HUGE POTS service fees. That and my $8 mo modem rental (need to purchase my own) are the only two real price killers. I can't imagine what services you are/were getting that you could SAVE $100 mo. I will also say that DSL technology is vastly improved. It used to be DSL was not available more than 3 miles from the CO (central office... the phone switching station) and the farther one was from CO, the lower the bandwidth. I'm at least 9 miles from CO and get full bandwidth. This is amazing, as I thought I was going to have to pay Hughes (satellite) $80 mo for relatively crappy service. Nope. DSL rocks! ...unless your particular company just happens to suck. nb |

That's *exactly* right, blake...why would I have a hard - on for an ugly, fat - armed, bulge - foreheaded, psychotic Death Metal loser like Mothra... [I really dig blake when he agrees with me, he should do it more... ;-) ] No one else aparrently did, either...in fact one of her ex - boyfriends offed hisself after they broke up... a drama which of course she had to blare about to a bunch of strangers all over Usenet. <snicker> Don't know if you were around when she and "Archon" aka Michael Nielsen from Denmark were carrying on here, but she was blathering on that she was going to go to Denmark and be a banker there ("How cool is that!?" she'd always exclaim after saying this). Well, she went to see him, and they broke up. Natcherly Mothra had to drag the whole ugli bizness BACK into here, with good pal Sheryl Rosen playing "Greek Chorus" with her snotty comments directed towards Michael... I see a *lot* of TMI on this group, but with her it was TOO MUCH TMI...ALL THE TIME...a constant barrage of it. This was a person, posting under her *real* name on Usenet, who worked for a major bank and then United Airlines, who was constanlty nattering on about getting high, her various liaisons, addictions, fvcked - up friends, etc. Not real smart... Anyways, Michael seemed a nice bloke and a he was a good poster here...and last I knew he was *still* alive... :-) And just for the record, Mothra and I were once pals - and even "allies" on alt.radio.talk.dr-laura. We'd email each other and then I started getting psycho emails from her when I didn't "take her side" in her arguments various posters in here (she had LOTS of "enemies" here, she told me in one; some of you would recognize your names...:-). "Things" deterioriated rather quickly after that...and the same thing happened with Sheryl Rosen. That's junior high school girly krap...who needs it. After that (this was eight or so years ago now) I decided to pretty much put the kibbosh on private emailing with newsgroup posters. There is enough drama *on* Usenet, I prefer to keep it out in the public forum, I don't need any *more* crap in my in - box... Of course if someone writes seeking genuine advice or they are writing to praise me I don't mind...but it's Usenet and I'd rather respond to them publically. :-) -- Best Greg |

Am I horrified, or amused? Nope, you're wrong as per yer usual, mon petit. In Mothra's (and several other cases) I simply used her *own* past words to refute her nonsense...*after* she went on the warpath after me (which was pretty amusing, Sheldon handed her her arse on a big platter in that particular contretemps...) > Do I feel anything at all? Be a NICE l'il cyberpussie and I'll tell Sinter Klaus to bring you a new dildoe made out of Silly Putty fer xmas... Calling Ozzy on the batphone? George has been to plenty of metal shows--probably more than you--and if he throws his horns with a thumb, that's his get-down. Personally, I find it ruins the symmetry, but that's just me... I find Black Metal Martha to be laughable, and yet frightening, in the vein of the Just Say No commercial, where the 35 year old dude is smoking weed in his room and his mom calls out to him to get a job, to which he replies: "I will tomorrow, Ma." Your strident calls for death to posers point out that your two-decades deep in the trenches of molten metal were mainly spent in your room burning the wizard bong at both ends and throwing the 8-sided die. Don't get out much, eh? Well, high school's over, Martha. In real life, you can listen to metal AND have a sense of humor. Yes, even about metal. Seriously, how can you listen to the operatic, Nightmare Before Christmas cluster**** that is black metal--ooh, scary--without a sense of humor? Must be rough.
