Amy -

Welcome. This can be a tough group, especially if we think you are
trying to sell something. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.
You have nice pictures.

Most of us at rfc, though, I think, not speaking for others, other
disclaimers - don't have much use for recipies.

And the world, or the internet, doesn't really need another recipie
site.

If you are real, give us something worth looking at - some ethnic,
cultural, historical, personal, other twist. Otherwise I'll play it
by ear, use the suggestion from the can or sort through six million
google results.

Good luck
M

Or trying to promote traffic to a commercial advertising
web site. That's just as bad. Maybe even worse.
The insincerity of spammers trying to "fit in" with
the newsgroup when they are only trying to pull off
an Internet-get-rich-quick scheme is far more annoying
than the ads for counterfeit Chinese leather goods.

Full control. Google doesn't put them in against your will. The whole

You do have a way with words, nb. And I did take a look, but didn't see
any adverts <wink>. Must admit most of the recipes did look a bit like
SLop's recipes, but hey, some folks like that kinda stuff <veg>

First tasted it at 'Juniors' restaurant in Penang, in '75.

Loved it ever since.

Also true. Hey, I bet everyone here does it on occasion. I don't make all
my broths and stocks from scratch and quite often resort to canned goods.
I'll use mushroom soup in a comfort food like tuna casserole. The thing
that cracks me up about slops is her total lack of good taste.

Her spaghetti sauce was a prime example. I've been doctoring canned
marinara sauces my whole life. Brown meat, onion, garlic, fresh
mushrooms....add canned marinara... add canned whole tomatoes, herbs, fresh
basil, wine, simmer, etc. Well, SLops did almost the same thing, except in
place of canned spaghetti sauce or even just tomato sauce/paste, she used
TOMATO SOUP!! (gag!) What's wrong with that woman?

Lol...

Now canned tomato soup is something I use to make ho' -made salad
dressings...I add a can to ranch - style dressings or other creamy dressings
and it gives the dressing a li'l "zip"...but I've never used it in marinara
sauce.

Thanks, CC!

We have Firefox on all of our Macs. I appear to be the sole holdout in
the family. My wife and all three kids use Firefox, while I'm still
using Safari.

And my apa ologies to notbob. It appears that the site may be spam.
There is master site with all of recipes on it.

I've switched to Firefox as well. Still several secure sites that aren't
configured for Safari, but they like Firefox. I also found Firefox is
more stable than Safari.

So, what kind of cookies are you serving? Do I get mine retroactively?

Four decades ago, when I was first in college, I had a roommate who made
spaghetti one day. He bought this box. It had a few short noodles in
it (long ones wouldn't fit in the box), a very small can of sauce and a
packet of powdered cheese. He said his momma always doctored it up, at
which point he started bringing out all of this stuff out of his grocery
bag. I suggested that he could have skipped the box, bought some
noodles and made the sauce out of the doctoring ingredients. Nope, that
wasn't how his momma did it.

When I look at all the stuff listed in the paragraph above, I would
suggest skipping the canned sauce. My experience is that there is too
much sugar and salt for my taste in those things. Of course, if it
working for you, more power to you.

I don't know if you'd call it plagiarized. It looks more like blog spam

Not with NoScript. No scripts, no cookies, no popups.... Hell, sometime the
pages won't even work at all! Never fear. Newer versions of NoScript
have a "temporarily allow all of this page" option which kills NS for this
one single page for this one time only. Very handy.

http://noscript.net/

This is the best plugin for firefox ever created. Also works with Seamonkey
and Iceweasel for you linux fans, but you guys should access NS from your
Help > Plugins menu for the correct NS dwnld.

This is why I took ALL that crap off my computer. I'd rather take my chances
