In case it escaped your notice, this is a COOKING NEWSGROUP. It is entirely
appropriate to invite participants to post recipes. Just how foul-minded are
YOU, that you consider my post to be foul-minded?

Please try to think a bit more before you post.

What's really funny is that this fathead addresses me when he knows he's
killfiled. He is obsessed.

Many people have commented on her obvious lack of common sense in a
kitchen. But it's much easier to just killfile her and "try" to
ignore follow-up posts that she's quoted in. If I read her posts and
commented on every one that annoyed me or the ones that she attacked
me in I'd not be able to have the time to read the other quality food
posts. Which is why I originally started reading this group.

Good food does not equal cyberslop.

....because I know that sooner or later you'll read what I write. You can't
help yourself, any more than you can overcome that addiction to crack.

I have no idea where you've learned terms like "rimjob". I had to
look it up and I hope Lin needs to also.

Resist the temptation to reply! I kf people all the time, mainly
because I don't want to see a direct reply to me. I don't care if I
see them quoted by someone else. One degree of separation (or is that
two?) is fine by me.

Hello Lou! <waving>

You're still kill filed by me, but I don't mind reading exchanges
between you and anyone else. You're ok and I think I'm ok, but you
and I "together" are like oil and water. End of story.

That's what most of us are here in rfc, Greg. I don't think that's a
problem.

To tell you the truth, I'd rather most people stayed as bytes on the
internet because I've met quite a few in person (not many here today,
I'm talking about the deep past) and some of them turned out to be
really weird - well, let's say "not my lifestyle" in real life... (and
I'm not even talking about people who were *** or bi).

You're known by how you post. There are some who will jump to your
defense and others who hate you. That's life in general and that's
life on the internet.

Bob, she NEVER uses terms like that. Take responsibility for your own

I've been to England and I can tell you they are very nice to
Americans! We had a special experience of admiring a garden from the
street and being invited in for a guided tour by the lady of the
house.

Don't confuse this fat old sot with the facts, sf. Then we'll miss the show
where he foams at the mouth and spouts obscenities. Because he made a stupid
statement months ago and lost a worthless argument.

That is precisely what this is all about.

I can't wait to go. We have flown in to Orly because it was cheaper than
London every time we went. Ironic because it had always been cheaper to fly
to London then travel to Paris. de Gaule was cheaper too, but Orly was best.
It works out because I needed time to read up on England and Ireland and
Scotland and Wales before we visit.

sf, why do you bother? I care as much about what this ignorant fat ****
thinks about my comments than I do about what Greg thinks about them. Why do
you care? Let them say what they want. I'm fine with it. I kill so that I
can avoid the more ignorant and ugly in a given group. You might consider
doing the same instead of arguing with them.

That said, I love Usenet. I would defend "Bob" and his butt buddy "Greg's"
right to make complete asses of themselves here with my ... uh ... well, not
my life, but maybe my leftovers.

Relaxxxx, sf.

In this particular case he has a witness to back him up! ;-) I mean, if
you could make up a story about being in London, would it be about food
poisoning provided by your employer? I think a tall tale involving a Guy
Ritchie movie with Clive Owen as my co-star would trump THAT!

My boy is very, very well traveled. Duty calls and all that.

ObFood: I did my Thanksgiving Dinner tonight and my turkey gravy --
which is generally hit or miss -- was amazing. Don't ask me how I did
it, it just worked.

My real last name is "Bowers".

Any other toothless threats you want to make? ("Toothless" being the key
word here -- you thought it was good for your profession to be toothless,
didn't you?)

Lin was responding to sf, you crack-addled slattern. Nobody was addressing
you. Is the syphilis degenerating your cognitive abilities, or is it just
your "cyber**** mindset", a.k.a., "congenital stupidity"?

Regarding verification of my travel claims, I *do* have my passport to offer

happy to let her.

Heh, congratulations! We all get lucky some time. Fortunately, my
T'day turkey turned out although I don't do oven baked turkey very
well. Then I had to transport it an hour+ up toward you. Most
surprisingly, the gravy didn't have any extra fat to skim. Surprise,
surprise!

Because I haven't killed him yet.

Unlike some here, I have no problem imagining that people travel to other
countries and continents. What I would like to know, however, is what YOU
think of "your boy" using a public newsgroup to revile a woman he doesn't
know in language we don't even know what it means? sf looked it up. I
wouldn't even know where to look it up.

I agree! Perhaps, like me, he sees a lady who is attacked non stop with the
most vicious language and name calling. I have come to know Cybercat and
she is a lovely person who thinks of others and will do all she can to help.
I can see why she attacks others in the way she does, because she is
maligned by so many people. I probably would be the same if I had to put
up with what she does.

What you and others seem to miss, is that the kind of language some of you
use, reflects badly on you, not her. Good for her that she sticks it out.
I am not sure I could

You see Greg? You can't help yourself. You MUST call her some horrid name.
Even though, for once, you seem to be speaking reasonably and quietly.

Quite so! I don't see why you find that a problem. I have two very close
friends, neither of whom I have met face to face. We share our joys and
sorrows and support each other. My life would be much poorer without them.

Again, quite so. I should think most people are the same.

I can believe that. I have seen you posting in other places, and I cannot
reconcile the fact that both are the same person.

Why must on line contact be a war? They are real people at the other end of
that line. Do attackers think they are hurting a nickname? You are hurting
real live people, who have feelings, lives and families. Would you do that
face to face? I don't believe most of you would. Normal people wouldn't
want to see the hurt they themselves have caused.

Let us have peace!

Or if peace is impossible, could we at least act as we do in public
gatherings? Could we at least not shove the worst language we can think of
into the faces of strangers? Could we not act as if scoring stupid tricks
off others is a sport better than any other we might play?

I came in here Monday after being away and I see that Kili is very ill and
in the same thread people are duking it out with abuse. Others have started
threads about death and dying. I sure hope it looks like too much to wade
through when kili gets back to sitting in front of the computer and reading
this group.

It looks as if there are very few here who recall how to act civilly or else
they've thrown the very idea that it might apply to them out the window.

Ditto.
You said it well.

I like all the posters that flame each other, believe it or not. I,
for the life of me, cannot see why flaming is necessary or desirable.
I like most parties involved, with a few exceptions. Those few
exceptions are folks that seem to delight in flaming, and delight in
smearing folks. It just doesn't make sense to me any more. Why
bother? What do you have to gain, except the animosity of a
community? And maybe the transitory satisfaction that you think you
scored a point. I hate to tell you folks, but you didn't. You only
gave a bad impression of yourself.

There a several posters whose posts I really like, for the most part.
That is, when they are talking about food, cooking, the food world and
how it relates to our general lives. When they stoop to flaming, it
turns me off. And I know I am not the only one. Why do you think
that so many folks have left this group? Quality posters
everyone..and they offered a lot of themselves. They just didn't want
to endure it anymore. I truly miss them... And it didn't have to
happen.

Barb Schaller used to have a quote at the end of her posts...which
paraphrased into something like this: What you say (flame) says more
about you, that what you are saying about the other person. I have
read this elsewhere..and it does make sense to me.

I beg all of you..those that flame and those that don't...please
consider what you say. As Ophelia said ( or some other person) would
you say it to them in person? And if you decided you would..consider
how that makes you look....It reflects more on you, than it does on
the other person.

I hope we can get back to food posting...and accepting each other's
foibles. We all have them. Non of us is immune to them... Lets get
back to our community and our shared interests.

Christine
