Default Just your basic leftover turkey sandwich

It's on my blah, dee blah blah, blog if you don't want to click
through.

I know there are as many ways to make a turkey sandwich as there are
people. This is how I like mine, it's probably a carry over from
childhood.

Take a slice of white bread. Yes, the one with absolutely no
nutritional value.

Make sure every inch of both slices of bread are totally covered in
mayo, or dressing of your choice. (riding the fence here)
http://i34.tinypic.com/5ocsd3.jpg

Load on the turkey. I like it made with the dark meat also.
http://i35.tinypic.com/28sn484.jpg

Cranberry sauce to taste.
http://i36.tinypic.com/2ir166e.jpg

I forgot to pepper the turkey so I peppered the other slice of bread.
For me the lettuce is optional, I can do with or without it. I thought
it would make a pretty looking sandwich so I added it.
http://i38.tinypic.com/141v1a8.jpg

I cannot tell you how wonderful that first bite was. I didn't even
make it to the table before I had to taste it. Wonderful!! I like the
little kick the spicy cranberry relish gives it.
http://i37.tinypic.com/aoly80.jpg

Thanks for sharing my sandwich with me.

It looks delicious! Now, if I only liked turkey… This is the sort of
sandwich David loves, but without the lettuce.

I did, too. I *always* enjoy Koko’s pictures! I posted not long ago how
much I like and enjoy her documenting the process of so many of the things
she makes, and sharing all of that with this group as well as the binary
group.

I'm with David, I can take or leave the lettuce. Some days, just gotta
have that little touch it adds.

I can understand your turkey dislike. (damn, my dyslexic fingers keep
typing turdey) I didn't like lamb for the longest time and that
bothered me. I kept trying it different ways and over time I've
acquired a taste for it. I now even crave it at times.
Not in any way am I making a suggestion, just relating my experiences.

I would think that the cranberry sauce would be good on chicken also,
especially the spicy one I make.

Thank you for your compliments Ophelia. I think it would make a great
chicken...wait...I just thought about roast pork. That would made a
great pork roast sandwich also.
Wahoo!!! pork roast added to shopping list.

I think my problem with turkey stems from not being raised in family who
served it, either at holidays or any other time. Whenever anyone else
served turkey, both my grandmothers and my mother always served capon. I
dearly love capon, and cook several of them a year. Like you with lamb, I
have tried to acquire a taste for turkey, but I don’t think I ever will.

Yes, cranberry sauce is very good on chicken, and we have it fairly often.
We both really like cranberry sauce. I also like cranberry chutney, and I
do plan to make your spicy cranberry sauce with my next bag of cranberries.

Is it difficult to source capon? I've never asked around for
one, but I recall James Beard writing about how good they can be.

Speaking of unusual holiday birds, saw something at the
market yesterday -- a goose, stuffed with a duck, stuffed
with a pheasant. Not sure how well that's gonna work with
all that goose grease, but it's intriguing.

Sometimes I crave cranberry with chicken and that's why I keep it on

Oh, man I've always loved *American* lamb. Can't say the same about
the imported stuff.

Do you do a whole bird for him??

I don't know if you have these over there....... 1-2kg turkey 'rolls'.

They can be either breast, or thigh (IIRC).

Just click on Frozen, Poultry, Turkey, and then you get to the individual
items.

Yes, we do have turkey rolls here, but perhaps they’re not like the ones
you have. The ones available here are pretty disgusting.

The Steggles variety are very nice.

Good meat in them and the seasoning isn't over the top.

Whenever decide to have turkey at Christmas, I always get one of them, as
the SO is like you :-)

Well, when we first got together she didn't like fish, either. But now she
eats quite a few different varieties. And oysters.

So a couple more years and I might just get her eating a rolled Turkey
breast :-)

Actually....... my SO is a *lot* like Wayne (or viky verka).

She's very placid, well spoken, genteel, sees the best in everyone.... and
is a damn good handbrake for me ;-)

Hell this brings back memories. I recall Ruth coming into work in her
daughters school uniform on dress up day. She had a good body but not
too pretty in the face department. I banged her in the stair well and
nobody even knew we had left the room for five minutes. Look Pete,
that was years ago so no offence ok?

Cheers

I can't see why someone of Peter Lucas's stature is likely to take
offence by someone else banging his ugly girl friend.

My lunch turkey sandwich was made with cranberry and my dinner
sandwich was made with avocado (no bacon), sublime! The avocado won
hands down.

You are awful, oh poor Peter. But I did have a giggle. Hopefully Peter

One thing I forgot to mention to the people with Blogs that have pictures

I could see it was a forge straight away without even looking at the
headers. Hopefully everyone else will be able to see the same and you
won't have some idiot slagging off at you for anything this forging grub
posts.

Maybe if you and anyone else it is trying very hard to forge, complained
to Google, they might pull this grubs account?

Remember what I said about it having mental problems?? It's quite
evident now.

Yes, it’s quite evident. Unfortunately, it doesn’t help much to complain
to Google. I’ve tried before with other “problems”.

I’m pretty sure people here on rfc know *my* posts.
