Heya all,
I was just perusing the food blogs I read, and came across this. Turns out, that several food bloggers are doing a 12 days of Cookies baking extravaganza...and they are making cookies from this article from Gourmet: http://www.gourmet.com/recipes/cookies To see the years of cookies, click on Skip the Intro. Well.I was perusing the cookies, trying to get ideas for cookies to make if I go to this cookie exchange, and what did I come across? This recipe from the year 1950: http://www.gourmet.com/recipes/1950s...ocolate-wafers I know several of you have been asking about chocolate wafers, and at least from the picture, they look just like the Nabisco chocolate wafers. Lots of great cookies there, and I am only on the 2nd decade of cookies!! Christine |

I'm not sure what "breakfast cocoa" is, but since it uses baking powder instead of soda, I'm gonna try it with dutch cocoa. (Regular cocoa is acid. Dutch cocoa is alkaline and much darker in color) Bob |

I might try to make them as well, as I get tired of trying to find the Nabisco ones, and then paying a hefty price for them. Lots of great looking cookies in that article...I have my eyes on several of them. Christine |

Wouldn't "breakfast cocoa" be the all in one that you just add water to? -- I never worry about diets. The only carrots that interest me are the number of carats in a diamond. Mae West |
