There are also many reasons for a doctor to give different advice to patients with the same condition. Among these are dosage level, lab result history, other conditions and patient compliance. > I submit that if you get any information provided by the makers of Coumadin > that there is a list of foods that people on coumadin should completely > avoid, if not severely restrict their intake. The following source says to avoid cranberries and alcohol, and gives a list of foods (including spinach) that you should not change the amount you eat without talking to your doctor: http://www.drugs.com/coumadin.html The following source says: "Avoid sudden large increases or decreases in your intake of foods high in vitamin K (such as broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, kale, spinach, and other green leafy vegetables, liver, green tea, certain vitamin supplements)." It also gives a limit for cranberry juice. https://members.kaiserpermanente.org...ails.do?drugID =270211 > I don't have a degree either, but have been going through this for fifteen > years now, and have a brother and sister who have done the same. I do not take Coumadin or know anyone well who does. I visit the lab all too often. I have to wait in line, show my health plan card, sometimes a photo id and then sit in the waiting room until I'm called. I see people walk in and the receptionist says, "Hi John, have a seat and I'll check you in". Those are the Warfarin (what my HMO calls Coumadin) patients. I do *not* want to be on a first name basis with the lab people! :-) -- Dan Abel Petaluma, California USA |

Even though he takes coumadin. Steve |

I think I will. I hate taking over 400 doses of meds every month. This is going to save me a bunch of money. Think of all the things I can buy now that I formerly considered bad for me. Wait, does that include good bourbon, $3 Exacta tickets and topheavy women? Where can I find Dr. Feelgood? Steve ;-) |

If I am ever ill in Harlingen, Texas, I shall know to drive to the next populated area before seeking medical attention. Steve |
