Pbhhhhht. (Substitute rude noise of your choice.)

It was 2 deg. F this morning when we had breakfast.

As strange as it seems to me, I'm starting to warm to the idea of a
southern hemisphere Christmas.

Hubby told me about after I said a 58° interior temp was too cold and
turned up the heat.

When I got up at 11:30, it was 39F here. Now it's 3:16, and 5F. Temps
are falling fast, and it's very windy. And snowing. I'm staying
inside.

Prawns on ice, cold roasted chicken, leg of ham straight out of the
fridge, watermelon (infused with vodka, or not!!)...... and plenty of
icy cold beer and bubbles.

*That's* how we do Christmas lunch 'down south' :-)

It is, indeed. Come on out. But I have to warn you. It was very cold
here today, in the mid-50s. It might even rain tomorrow. :-)

Drats... I have to go to work today. (-18 at the moment, wind
chill -30).
You don't know how serious I'd be if not for work.

Thanks for the invite. I think I could handle the chilly mid-50
weather and possible rain. LOL

I remember those sub-zero temperatures when we lived in NE Ohio. I hated

We lived in Colorado for awhile above Denver near Evergreen. 8,000 ft.
I've shoveled snow in -20. Surprisingly, it was not so bad if there was
no wind. We'd work up enough of a sweat to end up in a T-shirt and
jeans! It was also very dry so that helped. We'd still be wearing a
hat, boots and scarf tho', Just bare arms

Shoveling snow is hard work. I think I'll stay South. <g>

Your "balmy" 90 degrees in D.C. feels like a goddam sauna. At least I can
dry roast something at 120 degrees in Arizona. :-)

Wrong again Peter.

There is more to Australia than Queensland - which always has horrific
weather this time of year.

Here in Tasmania, it's just under 12degC, and I doubt it'll go over
25degC max at any time during the next two weeks.

Ha! Just as I opened this thead my husband was reading me the weather
report for our home in Yachats, Oregon. 27 F with rain/snow! Here
in Bundy, a quick check of our thermometer on the bulkhead shows we
are at 88 F in the cabin at 5 PM.

We spent last Christmas at home and it was fun to sit by the fire and
watch the weather storm outside but this is better. ;-)

Last Christmas we had prime rib and it was wonderful but the big red
circle with a red diagonal line running through it is on our oven
now. Do Not Use The Oven!!

This Christmas will certainly be different. Prawns are on the menu
and anything else that works on the Bar-B-Q. My hubbin' won't tell me
what all we are going to have right now because he's chowin' down on
ripe red cherries at the moment.

I love Evergreen. I've only been there in the summer and certainly
don't think I could survive in the winter. I'm a fair weather girl.

NO! It's just too freeken HOT to use the oven on the boat. The heat
lingers for ever! We don't have aircon.
