some Dromedary mixes are still available, the brand is owned by Tone
now. See the mix at: http://www.amazon.com/Dromedary-Date.../dp/B000AP1NVA I remember my Mother and later, my wife, buying Dromedary dates in the steel rectangular can. The only brand either would use. Haven't seen any dates in the stores but the packaged dry ones in years with the exception of some fresh dates that come in periodically. |

I still wish they made their yellow cake mix, but searches have not turned it up. > > I remember my Mother and later, my wife, buying Dromedary dates in the > steel rectangular can. Dromedary were the best dates you could get in the supermarke at the time. I still buy certain types of dried dates in the supermarket when recipes call for dried dates, but one real advantage of living in AZ is that many varieties of dates are grown locally and sold fresh at fruit stands and farmer's markets. Last week I bought some fresh Medjhool dates that were a good 3" long, soft, plump, and sweet. -- Wayne Boatwright (correct the spelling of "geemail" to reply) ************************************************** ********************** Date: Thursday, 12(XII)/25(XXV)/08(MMVIII) ************************************************** ********************** Today is: Christmas ************************************************** ********************** My reality check came back marked 'Account Closed'. ************************************************** ********************** |
