I overheard a grocery store conversation between a man and his (maybe) 7-year old kid. The kid picked up a can of cheese whiz and said "What's this dad? Does it taste good?" Dad replied "it's like whipped cream made of fake cheese". The kid looked ill. I completely cracked up I like Velveeta for grilled cheese sammies. We have a place here in Sacramento to which my Philly friend Elle has given 2 thumbs up with a twist. I think it's called Mr. Charlie's. We just call it the cheesesteak place, I never pay attention to the actual name. The sandwiches are the real deal and although my experience with Philly sandwiches is limited, I do know from cheesesteak so nyah nyah nyah! TammyM |

The boy practically subsists on mac and cheese alone, he's a very picky eater and his mom hasn't forced that issue (he's lucky he ain't MY kid!!!). I made mac and cheese for them one evening when I had the whole famdamily over. Fancy schmancy mac and cheese using lovely cheeses. And no yellow coloring. The kid wouldn't touch it. He ate the homemade parker house rolls and nothing else that night. TammyM |

Yeah, I've used the Ragu cheese sauce a couple times, and it's pretty good (avoid the Alfredo like the plague). A tastier "sauce" is Campbell's Cheddar Cheese soup.
