Default Weiner Sschitzel

I had always heard about Weiner Sschitzel for years, but never knew
what it was. It always seemed like a "joke." Finally I looked up a
recipe for it, and it seems as if is just breaded veal cutlets or
chicken fried steak. Here I thought I had never eaten it, but I guess
I have eaten it numerous times.

Check this month's Cook's Illustrated for how to make it properly.

Cook's Illustrated has to be the best for a learning tool! Wouldn't
miss an issue. Did you know that iTunes has Cook's podcasts
available free? They don't have the entire recipe...but the video
techniques are the best.

It's spelled "Wiener Schnitzel" (makes it easier to look up).

From my dictionary:

Wiener schnitzel

noun

a dish consisting of a thin slice of veal that is breaded, fried, and
garnished.

ORIGIN from German, literally ŒVienna cutlet.¹

I like it made with pork, mostly because it's cheaper and more available
where I shop.
