Default Roasting in Crock-Pot

Someone was asking about roasting in a slow cooker. First, I don't.

But... I looked into the Rival website and downloaded some user
manuals.

http://www.crock-pot.com/oldmanuals/legacy/3122.pdf

has recipes for maybe 6 models, which include pot roast,
meat loaf with baked potato, and others. Note that these
call for no liquid to be added to the pot. Veggies need
liquid.

I have two old manuals concerning the 3200 series,
and they have recipes for baked potatoes, pot roast/no
veggies, and beef pot roast, pork chops etc. The max
water to be added is 2 Tbs.

All times are for Lo setting. The 3200's I had were
made without a Hi, only "on" which is "lo". IN the
3200 series, baked potatoes were merely pricked,
wrapped in foil, placed in pot, and cooked without
removing lid for 10-12 hours.

This makes the SC a natural for pulled pork, esp.
with some finishing sauce added. May do that
next time, rather than using the stovetop. I will,
as is my custom, lightly apple smoke the shoulder
or loin, maybe larded with garlic slivers, rubbed
with a little Cavender's Greek Seasoning, and 1
cup Pride of Deer Camp Marinade.

HTH
